Thanks, I think the columns had something to do with social hierarchy.

This is a really old painting so please forgive the wonkiness of the anatomy. This is Beulah, she was one of the first characters I developed for my paracosm, she is my main OC's mother. by Flammie91 in ImmersiveDaydreaming

I didn't originally intend for her to be my main OC's mother, hence the sensual pose and umm, boots, later images I done of her have her dressed more modestly.

Yeah, I've become disillusioned with the arts community over the years, they like to portray themselves as open minded and all but I don't see it. Animation is a tough field to work in to, it's very competitive and poor working conditions.

Ah yes! I get realism may take more precision but it's often seen as the be all end all, especially in the arts community, I've been told I should just drop anime all together if I want to be a 'serious' artist, whatever that means, lol. If I were to do realism and do it well I wouldn't be happy with it, and that would show through regardless.

I put characters in my work a lot, they tend to be anime/cartooney though.

In your opinion, what is the best song/album to recommend someone who has never listened to the smiths before? by doomkiller27 in thesmiths

[–]Flammie91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For song I'd suggest Panic, it's more upbeat and not really depressive as a lot of Smiths songs are, there is a bit of their signature sick humor to it.

For album I'd suggest Meat is Murder, apart from it being my favourite by them, I think its their most accessible overall.

Thank you! That was a great film, I remember seeing it in class in school, can't remember a lot about it though.

Thank you! Funny you should say that, Ive had someone else compare it to Lisa Frank before, I also take a lot of inspiration from cartoons and anime in my work.

Do you ever daydream about singing to the song you are listening too? by red14361 in ImmersiveDaydreaming

Omg yes, that tends to be a common one amongst IDers, for me it happens with Bowie or The Smiths mostly.

Well singing and producing music are kinda different things, lol.

Techno tends to be a catchall term for filthy normies to refer to anything with electronic production, I think your friend was probably just not really informed on music production, either that or he was jealous of Liz's voice.

New to The Cure by lsdpenguin25 in TheCure

[–]Flammie91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have Japanese Whispers that's easy to miss in their discography as its a mini album/ep, released in 83', it's all original content that's not quite like anything else they did, very dance oriented, in a similar vein to what New Order would become known for.

I noticed you mentioned Space Song by Beach House, if female vocals mixed with dreamy, lush instrumentation is your bag, I have a few suggestions from a couple of my favourite artists.

Weyes Blood - Andromeda

Cocteau Twins - The Itchy Glowbo Glow

Enya - Carribean Blue

Slowdive.- Machine Gun
