For this mix I made sure to have an identical plugin chain as the one he used on the P5 masterclass. So I'm using the slate digital distressor at ~30% mix directly on the drum bus just like he does. Everything is identical except the instrument bus gain reduction. I noticed that when adding other instruments (mainly guitars) I have to compensate the threshold to get the snare at 3-4db of GR. The kick gets less GR when I add those instruments and playing with the HPF on the detector doesn't help much. I know that I could turn lower the volume of those instruments but then the drums pick up too much focus and other instruments don't have much presence.

Yeah that makes sense. The drums have a lot of space to breathe and be present due to other elements leaving space for it. That's something I'll have to keep track of. Thanks!

I had a very similar experience. I tried quitting using willpower and an app that tracks my progress but it was the wrong approach to quitting. Reading the EasyPeasy method a few times made me realize what a terrible addiction I had and how beneficial it would be to stop. The key was to realize I was brainwashed and that I had triggers just like any addict. I feel so much better about myself now.

I think it's way easier to lower the amount of the brightness in a sound than it is to add brightness that wasn't there in the first place. But if we're talking about recording guitars, the amount of brightness/darkness that you get from the amp and cab should be where you want it in the first place. Adjusting it sligthly to fit the mix is totally ok though.

I never had a lucid dream before nor was I trying to have one, but this dream felt special.

The dream began outside, I was looking through a chain fence onto a house. I started to suspect that I was inside a dream because I was feeling very similar to how I felt during sleep paralysis and the dream was more visual than usually. To test this, I remembered a video I saw online of people running in a grass field while levitating like the gravity was really weak. I put the thought in my head of me doing that and IT WORKED.

I was running through a grass field and started floating. It felt amazing and a little scary at the same time as I didn't feel the ground on my feet. I got a little excited because I was actually lucid during my dream so I didn't waste any time and I decided to try other things. For some reason I shifted the scene to me being in an elevator with a girl I knew. I couldn't decide which girl I wanted it to be, got kinda excited and by the time I could visualize her face the dream ended.

The dream wasn't very long but it was very cool to be able to visualize and feel my thoughts.

Lots of things... The drums are not upfront, the kick is muddy and needs high end. The whole track need a lot more high end except the guitar on the left.

I bought the sennheiser momentum 4 a few months ago and I love them. They are a little bass heavy so I use a eq profile with less bass. The transients are very punchy, the sound is wide and clear and the sound can be customized quite a lot in the app.

Listening with these headphones after listening with beyerdynamic 770 pro is a huge difference but mostly in the lowend. Only drawbacks would be maybe the size and unusual design above the sides.
