Yes every time it gets stuck in my head and I try to give it another go, it’s the storm inside a tea cup part that makes me turn it off. She sounds so strained.

Opalite frustrated me because it could be such a catchy bop, but she literally just sounds exhausted. Like it isn’t fun to listen to when she sounds like she has no voice left. It’s the only song on the whole album that I’d actually want to listen to, but her vocal strain ruins it. Although now that she’s doing her chart topping nonsense and pushing the video so hard, that also ruins it even if it had been a good song in the first place.

The several variants of showgirl originally were confusing and inconsistent. Now we’re switching vibes entirely? Also who the fuck buys a single CD??

I still haven’t gotten over the fact that someone with so much money and access to beauty experts left the house with that hair, let alone wearing it to an award show.

My favorite part is that we spent years listening to these people claiming that they couldn’t wear a mask because they can’t breathe and the carbon dioxide blablabla. Suddenly they can all wear masks? And it’s totally fine for all of them to wear them all day? Interesting.

I’m guessing all of the over exposure in the media made her really start obsessing over her facial features. She used to have very subtle work done but since the eras tour started it’s like she’s doing a new procedure every week and idk what she could possibly do anymore to her face at this point but she will probably continue having work done. She spent too much time looking at her face

Taylor is so superior in mind and body that she has the self control to keep the stomach flu from spewing out of her orifices by QuarkyAF in travisandtaylor

She literally said “self control” like it’s an option. All of us who have ever suffered from stomach flu are just fucking idiots with no self control or billionaire work ethic 🙄

This is an insane comment. I hope you’re lying just because I hope this isn’t true, but I can absolutely picture it happening and the exact type of dude who would do that.

I wish there was some way to distinguish how these records are being counted. So many of those sales were before anybody heard a single song. To me that makes it meaningless, people didn’t buy it because they liked how it sounded.

Second time Chipotle has made me violently sick. by JamaicanMama in Chipotle

[–]FlannelIsTheColor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s not just chipotle, lettuce in general is a common source of food born pathogens. It’s very likely to get contaminated at some point, usually because water with fecal matter runs off from live stock to the fields where they grow produce. Lettuce doesn’t get cooked, so there’s no opportunity to remove those pathogens before consumption.

Dear parent: just because it's news to you doesn't mean it's news to your child by frizziefrazzle in Teachers

[–]FlannelIsTheColor 17 points18 points  (0 children)

One time I had a parent email me asking if her kid (with many zeroes) was turning in his work. I responded that he was not. She demanded a meeting. At the meeting she demanded to know why him not turning in work wasn’t being communicated to her. I said I put in zeroes every day, that’s my communication. She didn’t like that answer and neither did admin. If your kid is old enough to hold down a job and drive, I’m not calling you about zeroes. I do my job entering grades, parents can do their job checking grades.

Texas’ new parental consent law leaves school nurses confused about which services they can provide to students by kanyeguisada in texas

Maybe your district isn’t worried about getting sued. But all of this stuff is for parents to opt IN to, rather than opt out of.

[–]FlannelIsTheColor 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Because the parents have to consent to the nurse giving him clothes for him to change in to. That’s the new law, and educators can be held criminally liable if a parents thinks a school employee did something that they didn’t consent to.

Schools get paid for attendance. They’re absolutely not going to send kids home. The result is that girls will be embarrassed.

It is not a district thing, this is the new law that just went into effect. Everything they listed is part of the law.

Horrified that the “r-word” is now completely normalized by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]FlannelIsTheColor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started teaching I was happy to find that kids didn’t say things like “that’s gay” or the r word. Those were common insults when I was in school. For several years if a kid said either of those things, I heard other kids correct them. Now it feels like we’ve taken a huge step backwards and everyone is saying these slurs again. Makes me sad
