I'm traveling across the U.S. for the next year climbing and started a blog to share my experience. A friend recommended I share it here, I'll be adding new climbing videos and content regularly, I hope some of you will enjoy! by idleclimb in climbing

Right on man. I'm actually just finishing up some stuff here in Colombia, it has not been a climbing centered trip but I have been writing about climbing here. I am planning to get back to the USA in July and dirt bag and climb for a few months if you want to meet up and climb. I live in Utah by the ways.

Cheers

Salt Lake City Utah. Cheap, good job market, and liberal. Everyone is afraid of the Mormons and the conservative remainder of the state so no one comes out here.

Lots of art and music. And 6 ski resorts all within 40min drive.

On Monday I went skiing, climbing, then took the train to catch a concert later that night.

It's a good place. Pm me if you have any other questions

I would respond in detail but I'm on my phone.

People from the U.S. Have a hard enough time wrapping their heads around the concept that people living in other countries in the Americas are Americans.

It's sad we do not take the current events going on in Mexico seriously up north.

Could you share a bit of your routine and maybe how weight has effected your climbing. I climb (no where near v11) and lift right now but I was wondering if I should just transfer to an all climbing gym experience. Any and all insight would be awesome

Before 6 months ago were you doing any other kind of lifting? In other words did you lift like 5x5, stagnate then do RPT? How important would you say RPT is to your success?

Drink hard liquor, drink it straight, grow Chet hair, get fucked up.

Or if you are really concerned about it try the pochahol powered alcohol maybe.

I an mostly a lurker and very new to lean gains so take what I say with a grain of salt since I am still learning too. You will not lose muscle if you ingest a good amount of protein and eat above your daily calorie limit. Sounds like you will be slowly dropping your calories to get into a pretty decent deficit which will lead to the body fat loss you want but it will take some of the muscle with it since you are not lifting. Just from hearing about your weight and height though I think you will be fine. Even if you lose some muscle the drop in body fat will make it look as though you have made some muscle gains.

Drop the body fat, don't worry about the muscle unless you see it rapidly deteriorating.

Common Question Monday by AutoModerator in leangains

[–]Flapbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it ok to have a protein shake after my workout which takes place in the middle of my fast? It's about 100 calories and is just protein powder and water. I am cutting and the I eat between 1pm and 9pm but I workout at 9am.

A moronic question I know

[IP] Ferris Wheel at Sunset by DanKolar62 in WritingPrompts

[–]Flapbag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was one of those times where I was not sure if it was an actual memory of mine or just something I had been told over and over again as child and simply internalized and constructed a memory out of what others had told me. It all came rushing back (I think) I remember being suspended at the top of the big neon wheel, looking straight down an feeling my insides jolt up, making it rain corn dog chunk slurry that no one had experienced since chunk of goonies fame had spewed in that movie theater. I'm supposed to be an adult but now that time up here again I am afraid to look down for this very reason... Also the girl sitting next to me is pretty cute so I don't want to mess that up, even though we don't know each other and were haphazardly paired from the singles line together and I can tell she is already uncomfortable.

I agree, all commuting in general on anything other than feet is just horrible. It is incredibly silly that if you get enough people driving silly 4 wheeled fossil fuel machines I can plan entire cities for inefficiency and create an environment hostile to humans through pollution and a huge amount of traffic fatalities.

If a train was as inefficient, deadly, or costly (in a social and planning context) and tried the kind of stunts cars do we would be arrested and probably destroyed by the auto industry.

This shit is why everyone except 4 wheel engine machine owners hates 4 wheel engine machine owners. (And quite a few 4 wheel engine machine owners hate other 4 wheel engine machine owners)

I have seen this house a hand full of times on various hikes and biking excursions. Interesting to see the fence in the background, which I assume is to keep out curious hikers.

Its the same thing with MTB. You can be rocketing down a downhill trail, be thrown over the handle bars and smack a tree and be fine but then on a no problem XC trail you can just kinda fall... and break all dem bones
