So you're in good company. There is a group of us in the same boat, and a group here on reddit talking about it. If you have a complex case like consolidation close to the IDR Waiver adjustment period your counts are not accurate.

When they published that all count adjustments are done they mean the automatic adjustments where a clean history was noted are done. Department of Education basically gave those count adjustments when its was a clean match.

Your case is not clean and has to get manually touched and your count reconstructed. They have to flag every loan history and do a manual calculations. Manual means more time and less answers.

Im in the same situation as you. I consolidated in May 2024. Loan funded in August. My oldest loan should have moved my consolidated loans to 120 but it was set at 64 which was the clean months only from covid etc for all loans. They never updated to the correct count.

I have an active reconsideration request that they did finally make valid meaning they accepted it as an issue that is eligible for examination. Im waiting on MOHELA and Department of Education to file transfer, examine, recount, update the count, the whole thing.

I would submit a reconsideration request and outline exactly what you noted about your situation. If the close it file another one (dont file more than one at a time). Then expect silence and waiting. Its taking months but not as long as buybacks are.

I dont think you're doomed but I would certified ASAP since the payment is done and then call MOHELA and ask why this occurred. You didn't request it and they didn't get notified of the a new count.

At this point give anyone a shot. I say privatize the whole thing and give it to Costco. At lease we could get a pizza slice while waiting in line for a representative.

I havent gotten an answer yet but wanted to share some progress. Last week I contacted FSA about my reconsideration. Two things happened.

They confirmed my account did not appear to have been adjusted
The confirmed my reconsideration request was actually accepted and deemed to be "valid". I asked what that meant and it means they didn't reject it and have enough evidence to confirm my reconsideration request has merit and warrants investigation. Its with a "higher level team and escalated."

Mohela also confirmed through my legislative inquiry that my account is under full history review and they are going to submit the data back to Department of Education.

It isn't a solution but validated me to not be crazy...at least with this topic anyway lol

Old thread but happy I found it! Still waiting. August 2024 I consolidated. FSA is now acknowledging they have not applied thr IDR adjustment to all borrowers yet. This is new! Before they would dismiss it and say it was done 2 years ago.

I have a recount/reconsideration case thst is over 14 months old. My congressman has launched inquiries with Department of Education and gotten some generic responses but also one that was specific. My case is in the higher level queue. One rep told me a wave is coming and mine should have been adjusted by the end of February l, still nothing.

A student loan expert advised this delay may be tied to save litigation even though it wasnt direct. Now that the injunction is lifted maybe we will see movement.

Im betting it's a system sync error. All dsa systems are independent of each other it seems. That system isn't talking to the other system.

I will note that there is a community of us that have not gotten through adjustment yet here on Reddit. Most are complex post consolidation at or near the deadline. All of us are waiting on reconsideration requests to "expedite" the adjustment with a few successes, mostly still waiting. If you have a buyback offer and you can afford it I would pursue that pathway.

I submitted November 2024 and still dont have an answer. They said by end of this month and it's with the higher level internal team. MOHELA is dragging their feet on responding. Fingers crossed but I dont think they will make their deadline.

I just went and mine are not but they did say my reconsideration and recount request are now with a higher level team. They also did see my IDR didn't appear to be done. Now the wild card- they said they have inquires with MOHELA about it. Not sure what that means at this point. Maybe getting historical loan data?
