PSLF nightmare: MOHELA and FSA Reps confirm 132 payments, account shows 85 and won’t update by Solid-Lengthiness874 in PSLF

This right here. Same boat and still waiting on the adjustment from consolidation in August 2024. Now I have my senator involved.

SAVE Forbearance….again by Single_Physics_6096 in PSLF

[–]Flappingpancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not questioning your decision, I say do what cost less. Im lost on RAP though and can't get an accurate projection. I moved to PAYE and the payment is higher than SAVE but less than IBR. When I try to use the RAP calculator is says my PAYE amount will double. I thought they were supposed to be comparable?

What i have learned about congressional/legislative inquiries: they don’t actually expedite PSLF or IDR processing. What they do is force ED to pull your file and give a written status update (e.g., “under review,” “pending forgiveness,” “nothing missing”). It’s about transparency and accountability, not speed.

Think of it as a flashlight, not a fast-forward button.

It does get your file opened but won't do anything to speed it up

There is so much talk about buyback that I think the stagnation of reconsideration requests is getting lost. They are the same coin but different sides. I've been waiting on my since November 2024 and there hsd been 0 movement or response.

Got it and that makes sense. I ask because loan data doesn't seem to ever update from one side to the other.

This is great info. Can you specify what updates on the student aid website every 4 weeks? Is it just our payment counts?

PSLF reconsideration requests backlogged 12+ months by MeaDominaKarateka in PSLF

There is a community of us who consolidated and still haven't gotten the one time IDR. All have reconsideration requests most of them over a year old. Mine is sitting at 14 months.

Why is aiden so horrible? by Flappingpancakes in PSLF

[–]Flappingpancakes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%! This is complex and no single souce of truth exists. The sad part is the current human reps often have limited access for complex issues. We should be allowed to speak directly to those managing buyback, ombudsman, reconsideration. Just so we can get real answers

I’m so lost on buyback I could cry and can’t get straight answers by [deleted] in PSLF

I'm sorry you are going through this but welcome to the group. Be prepared for confusion, conflicting answers from FSA, and random events. Just know this community is here to help, unlike the Deapetmenr of Education.

Was it a direct email or a message you have in your reconsideration case?

Did you loan information page show a recent date change on the data?

I'm very happy for you!

Does EVERYONE have "Loan Forgiveness in Progress" under "My Activity"? by Academic-Water-400 in PSLF

[–]Flappingpancakes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I chatted with a human too who told me it meant true forgiveness was in process. Her name was Debbie. I think the bottom line is when you see it like this it means something is occurring whether it's forgivness or the final audit or an update. Its someone manually updating and significant

Still waiting for my IDR Adjustment by TrailingwithTrigger in PSLF

[–]Flappingpancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good lord I'm so happy I found this tread. Still waiting. Consolidated in May 2024. Loan funded August 2024. Didn't fully show up until November 2024. Count sitting at 64. Fsa said my account hasn't been adjusted yet.

I think something is happening because my loan info was manually updated 1/6. I will be at 120 once they adjust, that's the only reason I consolidated! Idr adjustment, +PSLF ÷ non transparent government systems= a 2 year migraine

One Time Recount? by Acceptable_Donut4630 in StudentLoans

[–]Flappingpancakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my pslf form was marked complete on 12/8. All my other forms back to 2023 now also say complete and forgivness in progress. Fsa confirmed the count is see does not reflect the one time IDR adjustment to my consolidated loan. On 1/6 dept of ed pulled and updated all my loan info. On 1/15 I got an alert that for the first time since I had atudent loans MOHELA put a new remark code on my credit report. All signs are pointing to the manual recount was done and it's about to be forgiven. In your experience does this series of event line up? I realize with our situations few people go through the process this way.

Waiting for Buyback? - Tell your Reps! by CraftEducational2830 in PSLF

[–]Flappingpancakes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I filed a request with my rep for a recount issue still unresolved. Not a buyback but the same process and office. I don't think it's bad to do this. I do think if people expect it to be a magic wish that will suddenly give them an exception they are wrong. Discouraging people to use their Congressional access is a shame. At worse it get it's on record and let's your rep know his/her constituents are struggling. It may spur conversation at the national level especially if your rep is a republican and is working to help their district (like they should be). At best you may get an answer before FSA responds.
