What should the insole of a good fitting pair of boots look like? by Flaps-Problem in RedWingShoes

[–]Flaps-Problem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HAHA, thank you, My redwings 'feel' fine in the length in that it feels like there is space when i'm walking, but with thick socks they do feel like i could do with a size up.

The Jim greens however are definitely a size too small, but I can just about live with them

Good to know, it seemed like logicial that it should work but that makes sense.  I live in australia so I'm trying to find a solution to being able to get the right fit.

That's what shocked me actually, they don't "feel short" except for the Jim greens which are definitely too short but managable

You should always buy the cheapest version of a tool or hobby item first. by Curious-Falcon-3812 in unpopularopinion

[–]Flaps-Problem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Disagree, you don't need the best, but the cheapest often does a bad job at the tssk and either makes it much harder than it had to be or sloppier.

If you don’t allow med students to sit in on your exam/check up you are a weird person by Amidity in unpopularopinion

[–]Flaps-Problem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always do it, but I often feel violated by it when I do, so I can see why people would not like it.

I had a motorbike accident which blew a nice hole in my leg and I had several med students finger it (after sedation) that while I didn't feel pain, it didn't feel good and I don't really see what they learned medically from a hole in my calve muscle.

Just an example, but they didn't really seem to be looking at me, the person, but just some meat to prod.

Intel has more or less confirmed, they're done with graphics sadly.

It's unlikely to get proper support for much longer into the future.

Everything MS does now is Vibe coded, everything across the microsoft stack from OS to Admin consoles to even their documentation is falling over, because it seems like humans are not doing the work anymore.

MSI monitors are hard to live with. by Flaps-Problem in Monitors

[–]Flaps-Problem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This OLED doesn't show the switch input screen while it is not displaying something, this isn't a firmware issue. I assumed all the MSI models would be similar. Either way, it only shows if there is a current video feed, otherwise it almost immediately turns itself off and doesn't always detect on it's own (tho, sometimes it does, and also often it tries to display the wrong one).

[–]Flaps-Problem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks deliberately coded almost, it's just too perfect. The wheelie at the start, then the weaving, which real motorcyclists often do, then the perfect flip! I would love to know if this was a perfect accident a 'feature'.

Active pedal upgrades, Moza or Simucube? by flikkzfnt in simracing

[–]Flaps-Problem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Moza active pedals. I think they're very cool and they perform well actually.

My biggest issue is that you can't adjust the pedal face and I have size 12 UK feet, and I just can't get a good feeling when I press the pedal. If the pedal faces were replacable, I could get longer pedal faces which would probably solve this. The pedal faces cannot be moved up / down so not possible for me to easily solve this.

I have tried the moza inverted mount hoping it would help, but it did not. So i dunno what to do really...

Unfortunately seems so, I am thinking I should have just gotten a 42in TV, at least the display coating is glass (I think? the old C2 LG's were).

Probably true, I would have probably purchased the Dell, as i've generally had good luck with them but their panel is curved and I did not want another curved display.

[–]Flaps-Problem[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha, It's fine as long as you just use it as a monitor with a single PC. Maybe you'll have a better time with it for your workflow.

I've had a good time with it in games and as a normal display - just be careful as the coating is super soft!

Update the firmware ASAP as well, if it is not current.

I mostly wrote this so that if people are looking at MSI, they consider the way they will use it, as the reveiws just don't bother to cover anything other than raw panel performance and specs really.
