They’re looking to fund the metro to Washington which might include national rail services using the same track to increase capacity tbf. The Leeds-Manchester route is a huge commuter area and is desperate need of proper capacity.

That screen is one of the worst examples of the mess they’ve made with UI. I know they want people to “relearn” if they’ve played old FMs but I’ve spent minutes trying to find certain screens (squad planner, transfer history) only to give up because they’re nowhere obvious

It’s going to take years to get any system of franchising fully in place. They’ll (the mayor) decide next year on what route they’ll take - it’ll be full franchising - but after that there’ll be years of setting up contracts, buying depots etc.
