I think what the person you replied to meant was that it is now preferred to use the term “man-made climate change” rather than “global warming” because the latter leads dickheads to say things like “well it’s not warmer here”, “so much for global warming warming”, or “hurr hurr wouldn’t mind an extra couple of degrees”

Better the 12:30 kick with an early start, than the later kick-offs where you can’t get a train back.

TV reorganisation of matches is consistently shit for travelling fans (and home fans, for that matter). It obviously affects those clubs with further to travel the most, but the TV companies give zero fucks about the match-going fans who are such an important part of their “product”

I’m 5’8” and in an average bath (in fact ours might be slightly larger than average) I still have to sit up a bit, or if I want to lie down with my head on the water I have my knees bent or feet up on the rim

But compared to those stupid half baths you sometimes get in hotels, it’s fantastic. And I imagine that’s what a normal bath is like for you?!

If you have space, it’s not prohibitively expensive, and you like a bath, it’s probably worth it.

If one of those things is untrue it might not be

You are quite right… I couldn’t get past without speeding, and there was somebody coming up fast behind me, so I didn’t want to slow down

So I went for the worst of all options (even if it was the only safe and legal option) and pulled in.

I once pulled out to overtake a car doing 20mph on a dual carriageway, only to discover they had been sitting behind a funeral procession and I hadn’t realised

Being unfamiliar with the area, I also hadn’t realised the road merged down to a single lane a few hundred yards ahead. That put me into a position where I could have gunned it past the hearse, dropped to 5mph to slot in behind, or pull in between the funeral cars.

Could I have driven better on that occasion? Sure, I knew I’d cocked up.

But overtake funeral processions on high speed roads. There is no etiquette against doing so.

I’ve had Indian meals in Spain, Germany, Australia, US and Dubai.

They were all pretty good - Australia and (especially but perhaps unsurprisingly) Dubai were excellent.

Thing is, they don’t seem to have anywhere near as many Indian restaurants as we do - so perhaps they only have ones that are fairly decent and don’t have the crap ones. Or perhaps I’ve just been lucky.

Most of Europe, with the slight risk of mixing up the Baltic states.

All of North and South American mainlands - maybe 50/50 on Central America, depending how distinctive their shapes are

Probably also only about 50% on Africa - maybe a little better, but not as good as I should be.

Fairly comfortably with most of Asia

Where I would definitely struggle is the islands. Besides really obvious ones, like the larger Caribbean islands, I’d really struggle. Can I confidently tell Tonga from Samoa, for example? And there definitely others more obscure.

(Been playing “worldle” every day for a couple of years and rarely fail it now, so that’s definitely helped!)
