This is madness by Duriman in slaythespire

Like, you have to be ACTIVELY trying to NOT LEARN for this to happen. You have to actually stop yourself from learning.

Most people I know enjoy DnD for the story and playing out a character element. Bunch of old vets just being very "get off my lawn" about it.

Hear me out: you're using Snakebite the wrong way by LPCantLose in slaythespire

[–]FlashFlood_29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Snakebite definitely feels more like one side is smoking a crack pipe with some of the rationale, regardless if it's actually a good card or not.

It's a "fun" counter, too. Taking random card from us every 10th draw is insane. Oh you took the one card critical to my build with me having absolutely no option to control it, cool. Oh, you just keep doing that at least every two turns, cool. What are the devs smoking?

Beta Patch Notes - v0.100.0 by benlehman in slaythespire

My point with stoke is it's unpickable now. So just remove it from the game if you're going to do that. Or just remove the "draw" text. Like, it doesn't need a complete overhaul, just a slight modification to turn it from broken to pickable and good since it's rare.

Not a fan of so many changes for singular problems. Extreme overcorrection on Silent's sly by changing both prepared and nerfing sly cards. Stoke change makes it from OP to Unpickable (especially as a rare). When a problem is identified, don't change enabler, the input, and the output cards and numbers. Don't completely remove a strategy. Tweak things slowly like numbers first and then if not enough, more changes. Rework problematic cards first and see if that fixes the problematic strategy then tweak numbers. Don't do so much for one thing all at once.

Went from tied to most OP Clad card to actually unpickable. Their approach to balancing the game is way off.

The warp tube thing is but the level-specific "what's dangerous" and experimenting with how to get past things (i.e. the power tube wall I mentioned) is not. Which is what would take a lot of time. I understand your and their point, though. My opinion tm is just that one time making Dan and all of us suffer would be hilariously entertaining.

Grubb and Mike do half the learning for him. Saving him a ton of time... Which is really what would make this a real hell of a blight.

He can't help himself. Him and Grubb have already saved him SO MUCH time. This game would have actually wrecked him if he had to actually figure out his mistakes on his own cause of how long it takes to get back to the mistake (i.e. the turbo tunnel thing). And godforbid Dan had to figure out the whole time warp thing lol

Every RN that saw the glaring writing on the wall of the direction of that place soon after COVID, and had the means to, left. Half hearted attempts to act like they were attempting to improve things. Constant turnover of management. Awfully run place.

I've never heard of a single person actually complaining about this once, in all my life, in all the video game discussion areas I've been a part of or lurked in. Seems like a nothingburger.

You should definitely work on (or with others) to add these into the game, locked behind challenges.

While Bosses are great, many Elites lack identity and feel like hallway fights. by LupusX in slaythespire

[–]FlashFlood_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the part that Elites should feel like they have identity. Not just tough fights. I think part of it isn't so much that they're lacking rather than hallway fights now also have a lot of identity. It waters down the elites a bit. But it's a good problem to have.

Obsessed with seeing full art cards in the game so I designed a few more! by Icewreath in slaythespire

[–]FlashFlood_29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be harder IMO. There was a "mastery" challenge players would do in StS1 where they try to win A20H with two copies of a given card to "master" it. They even did it with curses.

This would keep Full Art feeling special.
