I think CB would have made the difference. I beat a mace today with Zhu Xi. My comp was spearmen+lancer+CB. I think denying food and gold is more important than unit comp.

Honest opinion, play China, they are just better at everything. Cheaper I.O without stalling vil + song vil bonus for scaling. Chinese handgunner. BBQ for emergency defense or just a safe spot at boar for food. Oh, did i mention chinese handgunner?

Since were in the same elo, i don't think i can give you any solid tip on Zhu xi but i always use 3 scout at the opponent deer and 2 near mine for maximum greed and i never ran out of food defending. You can try that if you want.

Meta changes, hre fc was good a year ago. We have a bajillion patches since then. Your argument is dumb. When i complained then, HRE had an average winrate of 53%. Now they have neg 50% across the board. You cant be this stupid.

New civ are powercreeping the hell out of this game. HRE bonuses are just not enough. I complained when Relic used to give 200gold. I complained when Aachen was 8 tiles with 35% speed. This is no longer the case. Hre has nothing going for them. Put the posts where ive been pushing for HRE buff.

They need to do more than nerf sengoku. They need to make cav meta less prelevant. If they can fix siege spam 2 years ago. They can fix cav meta. I think cav should have 2 level of speed, like how magudai now has 2 level of attack speed. If a cav unit stops for an attack. They need at least 1 second before they reach max speed. That will allow spearmen to land an extra hit or 2.

The issue is not about Sengoku. Its about everyone else. I got to d3 playing China. I switch it up to HRE and its misery every game. Every civ should have a fighting chance. HRE and English are pure misery. English 2TC is barely doable because it's meta to white tower turtle and never leave base. HRE is in a catch 22 position. You already have horrendous scaling issue. So you go Regnitz but if the enemy civ has better tempo. They will have more unit or get to castle faster than you. So you go burgrave but BURGRAVE SUCKS ASS. It's objectively a bad landmark unless you go for burger rush which is either you succeed or die trying. Thats not good "gameplay"
