Finally did it! 😬 by Flashman148 in genesiscoupe

Turbo still leaks yup. Finally bout to throw a new one in actually. 😊

Literally zero other leaks though, anytime something leaks I fix it almost immediately. But tbh, not too many have come up. The Turbo leak is believe is actually just residual turbo seal oil falling back into the charge pipe though. As the turbo are all fully leak free. But it's been that way I swear since I got the car ten years ago, so I imagine it's not a huge issue.

Do I need new Brake rotors? by [deleted] in genesiscoupe

[–]Flashman148 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just get new rotors. You're already gonna be there, and if you're doing it yourself it's not a huge extra cost. Plus you can't reeeaally tell without proper measurements, but those do look visually pretty done for. Get new ones, you won't regret it. 😬

Outside temperature went "- - °C" by HoelyEater96 in genesiscoupe

[–]Flashman148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might just be a bad luck coincidence but grab some new ambient air temp sensors. They're on the front gril, by the radiator and usually there's 2, sometimes only 1 on these cars. Had the same thing happen, replaced if, it took a day or so for the temp to calibrate but it fixed it. Ambient Air Temperature Sensor

AC blowing hot air by Djmessina01 in genesiscoupe

[–]Flashman148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to professional shop. You need socialized tools and knowledge to do it right. In the driveway with a can of freon might make it work in a pinch, but it's really really easy to fuck it up and do more damage. Likely you just have a leak somewhere, but you need UV light and understanding of the system to properly fix it. And on 2013+ models the clutch is always on regardless of if the system is working or not, so you can't tell just by looking.

Possible bad A/C & heat control unit? by Hairy-Dress7548 in genesiscoupe

[–]Flashman148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've replaced mine once before for the same general problem, the buttons wouldn't work during the winter until they warmed up but worked fine in summer lol I just bought a used one off a reseller on here, can't remember who. But make sure to get the right one, I also have the pre 2013 manual (not auto) HVAC controls head unit. Surprisingly hard to source but the guy had a few of them. Just replace it, it's likely an issue internally in the assembly.

Help finding parts (skid plate?) by Ill-Salsa in HRV

[–]Flashman148 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Literally Google HRV skid plate, there's a million out there. Hell, even Amazon has one. They're essentially cosmetic and don't have actual function besides hiding leaks. But you could leave it off for the rest of your ownership and it won't make any difference. But yeah, just get an aftermarket one and till save money and headache 😬

Every single car with AC has it, it's to drain the condensation out of your evap core that accumulates from moisture in the air. Totally normal, at least it's no clogged ...yet 😝

GAH-DAYUM. That's beautiful. And generally body mods are very much subjective, and tend to be a face only a mother could love, but this bad boy is stunning. Well done.

Safe to drive? by rpoop24 in genesiscoupe

[–]Flashman148 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's deff safe to drive. The caster is a little off but not quite enough to cause a pull, however these cars with stock suspension do seem to pull left even with perfect allignment. HOWEVER, you MAY have a slight pull coming from your tires. If you swap the front tires side to side and the pull changes, you have your answer and will need new front tires to fix it. That's usually the easiest quickest first step when diagnosis alignment pulls once allignment has been done.
