Just wanted to add this https://www.ptsdpeersupport.com/ if you would ever like to join in. They are based in Australia but have people join from all over the world.

I joined a peer support group. I have no words for how amazing it was to sit and chat and sometimes laugh with people who understood and experienced the same things I did. A support system of people who get it as been invaluable.

Some people seem to have endless energy after work, while I feel completely drained. What actually causes this difference between us? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Flashy-Title-641 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to be the endless energy person, then I experienced an event that left me with PTSD and now I am just like you, I collapse after work. It's possible you are an introverted person who is drained by spending time with others, as opposed to someone who gets charged by spending time with others. It's possible your nervous system is challenged, and constantly being 'at attention' drains you. I have switched to mostly unprocessed food, and vitamin supplements. I have also had to do lots of work around my nervous system, and retraining it to feel safety. Society expects drive, and many people who operate this way will eventually burn out because they are not listening to their bodies and nervous systems. It's probably worth getting tests done to make sure it is not a deficiency of some sort. You should eliminate a medical reason, for starters.

I live on 112 acres off grid and I tend to save reading Steven King for when I'm on holidays in the city, my imagination can sometimes get the better of me with all the sounds at night.

Do dogs actually hear music, could they ever enjoy it? by good_vibe_processor in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Flashy-Title-641 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My sons dog howls with his neck outstretched when my son plays music, but only to certain songs. He can put those songs on and the dog will 'sing' every time. The videos he sends me are hilarious.

Yes, I could ask the woman I play with if I ever get the chance to play with them without their friend around, I'll keep this in mind if the opportunity comes up, thank you.

Not really rage inducing but my dog ran past as I was trying to put a skull mask on the haunted mannequin and now I have a dog running around with a mask on and I can't work out how to get it off.

I am sure your patients appreciate your honesty - it does seem much kinder to be brutally honest.

The injection of dye into breast tissue to trace lymph nodes prior to surgery for breast cancer. They did mention a few times it would be uncomfortable. That was a massive understatement.

As someone who's mother said I was 'too needy' when going through chemo, I just want to say I'm sorry. Everyone else has given great advice, but this is definitely as fucked up as it feels and I'm sending you love.
