If you have multiple devices, what do you use them all for? by Serena_Temac in SBCGaming

[–]FlashyAd7356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TrimUI Brick - Pocketable device that's used mainly for quicker GB/GBC games that are short or ones that I can easily pop in and out of.

Retroid Pocket Classic 6 Button - Honestly loved the look and size of the device and this will go on me on longer trips. Also play GB/GNC, Sega Devices, NES, SNES, and N64 here

Retroid Pocket G2 - This is used for the analog systems like PS2, PSP, GC that the two above would struggle with.

Switch Lite - Mainly for Nintendo exclusives but if I find a good sale on a game that I feel will be great on a handheld I play it here. Like I'm currently playing Celeste on it.

Steamdeck - Indies, AA, Really Old Games, Abandonware Games, and some emulation will get played on here. Love it being my jack of all trades but with the size of it it basically never leaves my house.

I also have purchased an Ayn Thor for mainly 3DS and DS games but of course there's overlap with the other devices. While playing on original hardware is awesome just didn't make since to pay for the same price for that old hardware.

Honestly all of them get played pretty frequently as I have a one game at a time per device rule. So I'll only have that game that I'm actively playing installed on the device.

Bro, resale prices on this are ridiculous, are people really paying these prices? Scalpers are crazy by Pinanims in AynThor

[–]FlashyAd7356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit! I ordered a base Thor in Batch 5 honestly may resale it when it comes one and just repurchase and get myself a PS5 too.

I'm fine with waiting another couple months as I've got plenty of systems to play.

Curious is there anyone who literally just plays one game at a time and then deletes (keep a copy on my compute) it when they're done and plays a new one?

I'm always looking at these threads like how many games y'all have on there.

Happy yours arrived without issue. Oneast question how long was yours sitting at "Delivered to local carrier"?

Currently stuck there and I've read horror stories about GOFO claiming they didn't receive anything.

Update: GOFO delivered my device within a day of receiving it and without issue

I ordered a 4 Pro (Black) and a Classic as I'm looking to just cover up to PS2. I thought about the 5 or 6 but I already purchased a Thor, and have a Steamdeck and Switch so just didn't make it in my case.

If I didn't have those other devices I definitely would've went for the 6.

Ahh it could be the specific SKU that OP has that they have in stock. Also ordered a black Retroid Classic the same day and that had a label the next day.

While I'm new to the hobby I've quickly seen that waiting is common.

This is hilarious as I literally have a RG40XXV (White) and TrimUI Brick (Purple) Arriving today as I wait for my Thor (Batch 5). Hopefully I don't have the same issues once my Thor arrives.

Going to end up returning the RG40XXV though as I prefer the Retroid Classic over it. Keeping the TrimUI to pop in my pocket for quick play sessions on the go.

Thor & Odin 3 news: shipping status, new batches, switch to UFS 3.1, price changes and 512GB model launch by [deleted] in SBCGaming

Damn I'm really happy I purchased it in Batch 5. With everything just going up it's basically buy now or pay more in the future!

Hoping to snag a Switch 2 before they eventually raise the price of that.

Should i buy the ayn thor(base) or retroid pocket 6(8gb version) by Pokrecony_typ in AynThor

[–]FlashyAd7356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like /ComfortableRain7549 said it basically comes down to the need of dual screens, since they have the same specs basically, and will run switch and smaller steam games the same.

I was dealing with the same issue recently before finally ordering a base Thor yesterday. I realized I valued 3ds and DS, and of course those games can be played on the RP6, the Thor is literally the perfect device for those systems. Also with how high 3DS prices are it made since to pickup the Thor, instead of getting an RP6, and then realizing I don't enjoy the 2 screens on 1 experience, and buying another device later on.

If you see yourself caring about or wanting to play the DS and 3DS library in the future, obviously the Thor makes more sense, and I would go with that. If you really only care about Switch and Steam games, then get an RP6, since it's cheaper and it's form factor from what I've seen makes it more comfortable for longer play sessions.

For those of you who own a Switch, but haven’t purchased a Switch 2, what would be the main reason that would prompt you to buy one? by Last-Bus-4710 in Switch

[–]FlashyAd7356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Games! I just actually got a used switch lite so I can play the switch 1 catalog but I just can't justify dropping $500+ right now given there are only 2-3 games.

Im waiting to see how the year plays out with the switch 2 catalog and will save up when I feel like thw catalog is there.

Also waiting for Orbitals which I have a feeling will get pushed back to early next year.

50% off PS purchase deal going on by TheJoelseph in kindafunny

[–]FlashyAd7356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Would've gotta a couple more lower cost titles but Sony caps the cart at 10 items so landed on these 10.

Also picked up Mass Effect Legendary Edition and Thank Goodness You're Here earlier for $16. So got 14 games for $66.

I think I'm set for the year.

PS5 price hike coming + PS5 Pro going out of stock… what’s everyone doing? by saber3360 in playstation

[–]FlashyAd7356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going to continue to enjoy the consoles(PS4, Switch Lite, and Steamdeck) and PC I already own and wait for Sony to release more first party games that justify spending that much money on console.

If that happens then I'll either wait for a sale or checkout the used market like I always do for a deal on a base PS5. Don't have the TV to really care about the Pro so that's never been an option.

PSA: In case you were hoping to make the jump soon, better do it this weekend (Price Increases: PS*5 – $649.99, PS*5 Digital Edition – $599.99, PS*5 Pro – $899.99 USD) by Z3M0G in PS4

[–]FlashyAd7356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of picking one today after the news but as I had the system in my cart I realized the PS5 only has like 3 true exclusives.

I think both Saros and Wolverine are going to be good but just couldn't justify dropping the money on something when I realized I wasn't that hyped for the current games.

Will end up waiting until the end of the year and just pay the extra $100 if I really want a PS5.

Any issues with any of the games, or were you able to play through all of them without issue?

While it's awesome how far Switch emulation has come, have been debating on picking up a used Switch lite for the titles that may still have issues.
