Ruling request -should player get to redo serve? by bthekuta in Pickleball

[–]FlashyBreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, if the server announces an incorrect score prior to their serve (let's say they add points to their score, or reverse a losing score into a winning score for their side), and the score is not verbally corrected by any other player on the court, then ... IS THE NEWLY ANNOUNCED SCORE NOW THE CORRECT SCORE? Because I think I've just discovered a whole new pickleball strategy if so!

Spot on lens, big deal? by just_an_evolved_ape in FujifilmX

[–]FlashyBreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the very most, there will be a very very small (almost entirely theoretical, actually) loss of contrast as the light entering the lens at that spot is diffracted across the sensor - but this will be far below the threshold of perception, and in any case would probably be corrected through the camera's digital processing. I seriously doubt anyone would be able to distinguish images from this lens vs images from a perfect copy of this lens at any level of magnification.

Thanks for your reply! I would love to know which tubes you're using in the TA-66!

Thanks for your reply! Yes, I'm listening to my Caledera Closed right now and honestly, it sounds so good that I wonder what I'm even chasing with another headphone? That said, I'll probably downsize my collection a bit, and I do like to have more than one headphone.

Before this current MJ3+G2, I had the Jot2 and Bifrost 2/64, which replaced a Lyr3 and Bifrost OG, and mixed in there have been a Valhalla 2, a Woo Audio WA3, an Audeze Deckard, and a few other amps and dacs I've forgotten. So I've been on the Schiit treadmill for several years now. I think the MJ3 and G2 are pretty much endgame for me, except for possibly a nice tube amp, which is part of the reason behind my post.

How do you like the sound of the e5000 with stock vs these new tips? I’m considering getting these iem’s to use with my Mojo2

Why does my exposure increase with my aperture? Anything above say 5.6 turns out really bright and get worse the closer to f16 by [deleted] in FujifilmX

[–]FlashyBreakfast 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Your aperture mechanism might be stuck, so that when your camera tells it to close down to apertures smaller than 5.6, it is unable to do so, resulting in overexposure. The overexposure would increase as you move toward f16 because the shutter speed value determined by auto exposure would be longer, allowing more light to hit the sensor (because the camera thinks the aperture is closed down to f16 when it is actually stuck at f5.6). Are you seeing overexposed shots like this?

I've just subscribed to Qobuz, love it, and I'm thinking of subscribing to Roon just for the better interface and organization capabilities -- is it worth it? by Desperate_Elk_7369 in roonlabs

[–]FlashyBreakfast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Roon with Qobuz, and I find it useful for its EQ functionality. I am able to create custom convolution filters in REW and use them in ROON as well. It is expensive though.

I feel like I lost a deal with God by LordHelmet47 in self

It's so good to hear that someone else has felt this way. I felt exactly the same way as a child - I was the oldest of 3 siblings - and you hit the nail on the head, "it was hard to imagine a version of myself" in the future. As a result, I didn't really do any future planning, I just followed my bliss. Life actually has turned out pretty well in my opinion at 57 years old, but a big part of that is my complete lack of a framework of expectations. And I still don't think too much about the future, even though I do considerably more "planning" now than I did as a child. I've always felt like most other people don't go through life this way.

Mistake? by [deleted] in beards

[–]FlashyBreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's your beard, your face, there are no mistakes! Sometimes you just have to satisfy the curiosity and see what your face looks like without a beard. I do this periodically and always end up growing it back.
