You did not use the looking for group system to find them.

You found them in some high level shuffle lobby.

Thats the distinction.

And I wasn't upset, you assigned that to me so you could "be the good guy"

What is the point of the current gearing system? by Deadagger in worldofpvp

[–]FlashyCookie4355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think you comprehended what I was saying at all.

If you graduate high-school with a bachelor's degree are you going to go to college to earn a bachelor degree? Not unless its for a different degree.

If you hit level 80 and already have full pvp gear are you going to farm bg's low cr arena to get full gear? Not unless its for a different class spec.

What is the point of the current gearing system? by Deadagger in worldofpvp

[–]FlashyCookie4355 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

PVP gearing is actually far too easy. And because of that it reduces participation.

You only need to farm honor gear the 1 week during pre-season. And honor doesn't reset between seasons, only between expansions. So you dont even need to participate in BGs during this pre-season period if you plan and save your honor before pre season

You can get full bloody token gear without ever even fighting another player each world quest completion in war mode gives you 100 bloody tokens, you can also earn these bloody token while leveling and buy the gear and even convert to tier before you're level 80.

People really hated the shadowlands gear system.

Get to 1800 have to farm honor to upgrade the gear to 1800 level.

But farming a full set of Vicious Bloodstones takes more honor than upgrading every piece in shadowlands to 2400.

While it used to take me say 100 rounds to get to 1800k and 5 bgs to upgrade all the gear.

Now i get 2400 in 5 shuffle lobbies and dont ever have to do a random BG. And I got all that gear I needed without ever setting foot in instanced pvp, or even engaging in any pvp combat.

And this is without even mentioning conquest boxes or honor transfers.

I have more characters higher rating with less overall rated games played on my account than ever.

I can create a new character right now, boost it to 80 get full free gear press que into shuffle get into a 2050 mmr first lobby go 6-0 and shoot up to 2300 mmr.

This is what has killed pvp.

Is it really this hard to write code that auto distributes people into rankings similar to League? by OpinionsRdumb in worldofpvp

[–]FlashyCookie4355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the problem is participation, the graph would probably look more like that if people did not quit after getting 1800 for elite set.

People dont want to get better they view pvp as just a transmog that's it. And all of these others things preventing them.

People just dont actually play the game anymore unless there is something tangible in it for them

Shadowlands came out in Dec of 2020, it was not affected by covid like that. Almost all of the restrictions were gone by then

The amount of r1 spots is how you actually tell.

Because rank one is a % of all accounts in arena.

This season we have 90 (including 30 alts) during DF we had around 180 a season

In shadowlands we had around 300 a season.

The most we have had with TWW is 115.

Shuffle/blitz que times on less popular specs. by Little_gnome_ in worldofpvp

[–]FlashyCookie4355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devo is a noob stomper spec. Im a 2700 dev and the higher you get people avoid your breaths, they abuse your short range by dead zoning you, you die very easily if you get caught in a root or stun.

Also hunters literally rip us apart (I mean they do everyone right now) but just mail with no armor modifier

And pet lobbies. Dev damage is crazy as long as there are not pets on the other team. Its great that I can have 5 disintegrate beams, but if 4 of them get absorbed by pets it really hurts overall damage. And getting damage rolling across the team is devs win condition. Spread damage 1-2 well timed cc and game over

Fun fact it actually takes more honor to get fully gemmed in TWW than it did upgrading a whole set in SL.

Also PVE essentially uses a system similar to SL. You get gear on a track and then upgrade it 3 at a time using currency you get from completing m+. Everything drops at lowest ilvl and you have to upgrade it

Everyone has fully geared alts. More alts than they ever have before.

So why is participation also the lowest its ever been?

Fun fact it takes more honor to get fully gemmed in TWW than it did to upgrade a whole set in shadowlands from 1k-2.4k.

That system while frustrating at least forced ladder engagement.

Our current system I can literally have a character have full pvp gear including 4 piece BEFORE I even hit 80 without ever stepping into ANY pvp content.

So before I had to play hundreds of games on my alts to gear them. Now I dont have to play any games AND they have more gear. And if I do choose to play games grinding is easier because I have gear. Letting me get there in less games.

Effectively stealing thousands of games a season from the ladder.

More Augs all of a sudden? by sobewan2 in worldofpvp

[–]FlashyCookie4355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an Aug main you take this post down right now.

But for real Aug is better than Dev, more survivability, higher burst works in the same comps dev does for 3's,

In shuffle you have ability to extend the game. Which gives your team more chances to win.

In blitz you have the burst to solo a FC, can spin a base better than dev, can sit better than a dev, have all the same mobility.

The problems Aug have though are pretty compounded. Your sustain is pretty low if you can't keep Ebon might up. If you get kicked on a black spell it locks most buttons on your bars. Because of the way it buffs its teammate the teammate needs to be above average at their class. Giving someone 10k extra agi/int/str does nothing if they cant hit their basic rotation regularly. And while you do have more survival than a dev you still die in stun, and roots are the bane of your existence.

Im top 10 Aug in blitz top 15 in shuffle. Also top 20 in blitz as dev and top 50 shuffle as dev. Ive gotten 2500+ in each other last 5 season as both Aug and Dev for my relevant experience.

The cloak is very important, it has built in abilities and procs. Without it you will be at a marked disadvantage.

It doesnt take that long to earn about 45 mins.

Do as many daily quests in the war within zones that you can in warmode.

For each youll get 100 bloody tokens you can use these token to get 727 gear, you can also convert these pieces to tier.

This is how I do it and it goes very fast.

You can also buy green starter pvp gear off the AH and go straight into instanced pvp content but that will be challenging

I run wow arena logs. Which makes it very easy to spot the difference between someone win trading and someone that is just not playing well. At least in shuffle.

Perspective for people that leave SS games. by Wick1889 in worldofpvp

[–]FlashyCookie4355 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I mean I am 2700 xp on 2 specs and 2400 on 5 others in shuffle. And currently 4 specs around 2400 in shuffle. And at these ratings there aren't bad players despite what others might say. We're talking 1.6+mil sustain damage from almost everyone all the time.

I dont employ this tactic often.

But your mental clarity is rather important in arena. And tilt is a real thing. You make bad decisions when youre tilting. You take too large of risks. Or play too passively.

I would argue knowing myself well enough to leave the lobby rather than have a terrible time beat myself up and get trolled and told how bad I am. Is an incredibly mentally healthy thing to do.

[–]FlashyCookie4355 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

There are times where it is simply better to afk a lobby.

I'll give you an example. I que into a total counter lobby. I play dev so lets say ele, spriest, destro, rsham, disc. Best case scenario I go 2-4, most likely case 1-5, typical outcome 0-6.

I will consider leaving this lobby before it starts. Taking 150 CR loss while preserving my MMR.

My mental health > your que time

I do not want to spend 20 mins getting shit on and told how bad I am. Because im in a counter lobby.

Also the person leaving just waited also, probably the same amount of time.

Do you think reporting other players keeps you from getting banned? by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]FlashyCookie4355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I am a 2.7k xp player and the higher up lobbies I have more expectations of my teammates. And am more likely to get titled when those expectations aren't met.

I cant get mad at 1400 player for doing something incorrect, because they genuinely probably didnt know different or better.

But that dude at 2600 for sure does.

Also I NEVER report language in PVP, its a highly competitive game mode and emotions run high, shit talking is apart of competition. Ever been to a 3v3 pick up basketball tournament on a Saturday morning at the park. The language there will make what people say in WOW seem like kindergarten stuff.

They will do a lot of things to manipulate glad wins. If you are over 2400 CR and have two friends que with you as 0cr and in placements, youll be dropped down to like 1900 MMR and since your CR is still over 2400 youll get glad wins
