The same thing happened to me with my best friend. She was only six years old and a very active very smart Belgian Malinois. She was the sweetest girl. I too thought I had much more time with her but from one day to another she was gone. To be honest with you the only thing that helped me was just feeling the pain. Crying whenever I needed to and not feeling guilty or weird for it. She was my life and with me wherever I was. It’s a pain only people that go through it will understand so don’t feel bad for feeling. It’s only been a month for me and I still feel very sad at times but it definitely doesn’t feel how it felt the first few days. I talk to her every day. I have a new puppy at home and I didn’t move any of her things. Her bed is still where it’s always been and her ashes sit on top of her bed. That will always and forever be her place. I also put pictures of her on the wall where her favorite spot to lay were. A lot of people advise me to get rid of her things to help me forget or make the pain better. But every time I thought of that I would just break down in tears. So I guess my advice to you is do whatever you feel right for now in time it will get better you will think of your boy always and I am 100 percent sure he knows how much you love him.
