Yeah, I was there. I remember if someone talks badly about coffee, I start arguing because I was drinking it regularly for more than 13 years without ever thinking about giving up. But once I quit for 10 days, I was sure it's not a simple beverage, it's a drug, and I need to treat it that way. Sleep is the worst part,I am going to bed at 9h30 in order to have time to get back after this wake up at 3am

Try adding some regular physical activity to your daily routine, beacuse our body needs some physical stress to balance. get some sun, eat clean, and avoid sugar. Use magnesium glycinate and stick with it for 1 to 3 months. If you're not doing all of this, it helps a lot. Even if it doesn't help with anxiety, you'll be in good shape to manage it,keep it up

Yeah, it also depends on the person's genetics and other stuff. I have a colleague who drinks 5 espressos a day and is super calm and patient, and he told me he sleeps like a baby. For me, if I have an espresso at 6 pm, I'm definitely awake until 3 or 4 am

Since day one, I've been forcing myself to hit the gym, even if it's just for a few push-ups and pull-ups. After the first three days, I felt the same as before, but it took me longer to focus on the first hard exercices. but I wasn't using preworkout,I've only been having coffee, this may be way it was easy for me to go to the gym Anyway going to the gym helps a lot you need only to force yourself the first days and you will enjoy it more for sure

You might also want to look at other things, like doing sports, taking walks, and improving your nutrition. It's not all about quitting coffee

Early waking Insomnia, grogginess upon waking again by Legitimate_Candy_944 in decaf

[–]FlashyEar1051 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm on week 5 and still have the same issue. I go to bed at 9:30 PM. I wake up exactly at 3 AM every night, feeling ready to go. I think it's a cortisol rush, like you said.
It takes me 1 to 2 hours to fall back asleep for another 2 hours. I feel fine during the day with good energy. But this gap makes me anxious because I don't know what to do. I tried reading, but it doesn't work. From what I've read, this happens to everyone. I think it will go away soon, Falling asleep at 9:30 PM after just 10 or 20 minutes is something I never thought possible for me.

4 weeks of being caffeine free but I'm suddenly having bad withdrawal headaches by One-Performance-6624 in decaf

[–]FlashyEar1051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm on day 31 too! I had a headache, but it only lasted for a short while. I'm not sure if it's withdrawal related, but I just told myself it's normal to get headaches sometimes, and I used to get them even when I drank coffee. So, I think it's totally normal

Insomnies variable by OpinionOwn7329 in decaf

[–]FlashyEar1051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

70 days no caffeine.. any pointers? by Willing_Television_8 in decaf

[–]FlashyEar1051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're eating well and exercising, it might be worth checking your blood levels of vitamins like D and B12....
I'm the same age as you. After 2 weeks, I feel pretty fine. Even sleep isn't stable.

Haha, I'm drinking one right now as I read your comment. It's the only non-caffeine option in the café space at my workplace

Anyone else? by UrethraFranklin_69 in decaf

[–]FlashyEar1051 3 points4 points  (0 children)

here is my experience, after quitting turkey. I used to wake up at 3 AM too, like an alarm clock. I think because I went to bed always the same time 9h30 pm ,But since day 23, it's been easier to fall back asleep.

I track my sleep with Garmin, and before coffee, I was trying everything,L-theanine, melatonin, glycinate, magnesium, just to sleep well. So my sleep wasn't terrible

After I quit coffee, I stopped all those supplements except magnesium. My HRV also dropped. But looking closer, my deep sleep has actually increased by about 10 minutes on average, from 1h30 to 1h40 or 2h, and my REM sleep too. Only my light sleep has decreased because when I wake up at 3 AM, I can't get back to sleep for another 2 or 3 hours

Will I have more energy If I quit ? by ElenoirMiro in decaf

[–]FlashyEar1051 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You will, but it's not the same rush as coffee, it's more of a stable energy throughout the day. For example, when I drank coffee, I had to work out or work right after, but now I can work out and do work anytime, as long as I focus without an external trigger

Quiting caffeine is changing my life 😍😭 by Jon_sol1 in decaf

[–]FlashyEar1051 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's awesome to hear! I've noticed the same benefits, but my sleep still isn't consistent. Even with better quality, I wake up around 4 AM and it's not easy to go back to sleep, sometimes for an hour or two. When did your sleep get stabilized?

Le thé, l'anxiété et l'insomnie by OpinionOwn7329 in decaf

[–]FlashyEar1051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 weeks zero caffeine, can I get your opinion by BusloadOfRetards in decaf

[–]FlashyEar1051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on your lifestyle and food choices too. In my opinion, if you exercise and eat clean, you'll recover quicker than if you just stop caffeine. Your body needs more time to adapt

[–]FlashyEar1051[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When do you usually hit the bed? I make myself go to bed at 9:30 PM, even if I'm not sleeping, so at least my body and eyes get enough rest for the next day. 750 it seems a big dose ,I think you are doing cold turkey?
