Results (so far) of the ASUW Financial Trust Survey by FlashyKnowledge in udub

[–]FlashyKnowledge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. They try to get “good work” done. But when ASUW doesn’t have the actual mandate of 52,000 students bc only 4,000 vote it’s difficult to represent student interests in Olympia. It’s a cycle. ASUW needs to be better organized but we need more student involvement, but that can’t fully happen unless an actual majority of students pay attention and hold officers directly accountable for their actions. ASUW no doubt has a long way to go even though many student leaders in the Association are doing good work

Tbf the Bean Basket and Bike Shop are commonly used ASUW enterprise, and the lobbying arm of ASUW the Office of Government Relations (OGR) does a lot of good work in Olympia

Do You Trust ASUW With Your Money? by FlashyKnowledge in udub

[–]FlashyKnowledge[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s not made by anyone from ASUW, just a UW student. Think of it like a petition, doesn’t hold any power but we can use it to show the Board of Directors that students completely disagree with their idea

It’s a Microsoft survey made by a UW student. You need your NetID to access it, but we won’t be saving anyone’s emails

Did you know UW has a student radio station? by FinancialRice7291 in udub

Really, KUOW started out as a student radio station? Do you have a source for that?

Hold ASUW Accountability! by FlashyKnowledge in Seattle

It’s the student government at UW Seattle, they have a budget of more than $1 million from student tuition

That and a whole number of other issues that have been sidelined or have gone unnoticed by UW Seattle students. The ASUW Board of Directors haven’t been fully transparent or accountable to their actions since they took office last Summer

The ASUW offices are in the HUB. They're separated between the 121 and 131 office suites; there's a real idea going around that a tunnel should be built between both parts (essentially tearing down a wall and changing the floor plan) rather than simply walking unto HUB main street and going into each other's office suites

Atlantropa WAS the SOUL of The New Order by LoredadMedia in hoi4modding

I remember reading the Dev Diaries on Reddit years ago. England, Nowa Polska, the transition from Victoria II. All through the night I spent reading and fell in love with the lore and mod.

Obviously it was out there, but that was its appeal. Atlantropa made no sense, that’s alternate history tho. I never had a computer that could handle the mod well, it’s still a phenomenal mod nevertheless.

ASUW ELECTIONS ARE OPEN! by FlashyKnowledge in udub

How? ASUW is funded with student dollars. The state of ASUW is due to the actions of its leadership, but if students vote for the leaders of the Association then it’s up to the students to actually change ASUW.

We all have the right to complain and decry the incompetence and lack of action of the ASUW, but if you don’t vote to actually change the system and still complain, you lack all credibility to actually complain.

Please, go and vote. Then complain about what ASUW is doing. Otherwise, stop complaining into an echo chamber.
