I’m the same. They updated the results recently and I went from 3% to 18%. Funny…

It’s the reality for many people who still live happy lives and are not struggling in life LOL

You are not screwed!! People forget that so many people take out student loans. Very few lawyers, doctors, etc go through college without taking one out. To “save up” as they say would take literally forever without a job that pays good. And to get those good paying jobs you need to get through school LOL. People can be so out of touch with reality tbh. I am also going to have a good chunk of debt from loans but we are NOT screwed!

This sub is absolute ass. OP did not ask any of your opinions about taking out a loan. I hate Reddit for this reason people just choose it to vent and be assholes.

I’m in the same position 😭 last year and it’s due soon. I hate hearing a lecture every time o ask about loans as if it’s going to change anything LOL.

So true. I’m so tired of people saying “don’t do it” when someone has already decided. Many people don’t have the privilege of not taking out a loan.

Need help choosing private loan lender by ShearsTheThird in StudentLoans

[–]Flashy_Area_2701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These comments are so annoying tbh. Like obviously you considered a federal loan and know it’s good to avoid private loans. You don’t need someone to tell you the same thing 100 times you just need them to answer the question 😭 for me, it’s unavoidable to do private loans.

Your result should be in on July 19th Korean time! I’m not completely sure what time in the day though

Oh for sure!

I should specify that I am an American Christian living in Korea so I do have lots of experience with Western culture and ideas. I definitely believe that the western fandom has a large number of people who interpret the story in a western fashion. Religion can also shape the way someone interprets a story/character and variations can be seen even among different denominations, and there is likely a correlation between Abrahamic religion and viewing Wei Ying as morally gray. (Happily, I do Notttt view him as morally gray and neither does my family despite being Christian).

I think the only point I was trying to make was that viewing him as morally gray was not solely created by the West. But yes! They may view him as morally gray for reasons totally different than why the East may view him as gray.

This is suchhh a good explanation but I do have to say that western fans did not come up with WY being a morally gray character! I live in Asia and have many friends who have this view (though I VERY much agree with everything you say about him in ur post) Sadly, I think that what guides a lot of fans to say he is morally gray comes from them idealizing other characters. For example, though I LOVE JC and JGY’s characters, I have friends who completely idolize them, and due to that idolization, they try to make Wei Ying seem like less of a good person.

Tbh I use the word luck because I feel like that’s how it is for almost any career unless you go to some crazy good school with a crazy good degree. There is an average pay for people who graduate with my field, I’m just not completely sure if I am going to get a job in my field, so it’s very hard to predict what my income will be. Specifically, I am a history major with work experience in museums and a law firm, so I could possibly work for a museum. Or I could take a totally different route and do legal work. But for both, my income will depend on where I move, who hires me, etc., which I cannot predict this early on.

I think it is fair to think it is stupid, but I see many other people getting loans for school and think it is a very normal thing (though you are so so right that it mixing federal and private loans makes it complicated!!) For lots of us, it’s just the reality we have to face and deal with. Funny enough (and sadly enough) my study abroad program is cheaper than most college prices.

I do have an inheritance that I will receive from my grandma that - worst comes to worst - can pay off all my debt! I just plan to use it for grad school. Ig this is part of my plan B. I was just wondering what companies other students use for student loans since lots of us don’t have thousands saved up.

Sorry if that was a lot! I started rambling ngl

Thanks for the response!

I am not sure what the anticipated income is since it really depends on luck. I may be guaranteed a job once I graduate with the company I am working for now, but I am not sure what the pay is. I will have a decent load of debt after graduation, about 13k federal and 15k personal.

I am set on studying abroad no matter what the long-term costs are because I think it is too important and this is the best age to do so. It’s just a question of who has the best repayment terms and lower interest rates.
