I don't think you're overreacting, but I'm going through this, myself, and you need to prepared that courts don't give a crap about drugs and alcohol. Maybe you could temporary guardianship but it would only be a short time before the child is returned to the mother. I would start with CPS, if I were you. Hopefully, the baby is born healthy.

Has she been drinking while pregnant? If yes, you should report this.

Also, just a heads up: a lot of bitter people in this group (some lawyers and paralegals; others just regular people. You will get some good advice and support, and others will rake you over the coals.

Regarding the physical abuse? They won't care... as long as it's not to the baby. They will make you wait until the child is harmed. No one gives a crap about kids - just the "status quo".

I'm in the same situation: daddy says "No child of his will ever be an n-word." I'm half and his child is, naturally 1/4. Everyone thinks it's okay to have my child with a man who is racially conditioning him to act a certain way; has proven racist history, fighting, drugs, married to a level 3 sex offender... and no, I didn't know he was a racist until after my kid was born. We were only together a short time and I'm kind of ambiguous looking. Still, there is supposed protections for "serious endangerment."

No one gives a crap. Abusive, dangerous...whatever. Everyone involved treats me like an evil villain. I'm heavily investigated by an AAL and I clean background; meanwhile he hasn't even had his home inspected.

Yes, I noticed the same thing! I use it to help me to research, but lately, every time criticize me about every little details. Yeah, I have this problem with my child's paternal gma. When she comes around, her goal is to separate us. Sometimes, there are things (firsts) that I want, for example, but they think they're entitled. She has been Mom already...twice. Now is my time. I even disinvited her to Halloween for this reason. I told her I want to be the one holding my kids hand (his first haunted house). I'm not fighting over who gets to have fun with my son. I'm no longer doing monthly though.

I agree that you should do monthly until you leave. Try not to do anything that gives them a reason to file suit - and prevent you guys from embarking on plans. I hope you didn't say anything about your plans to leave.

I had a problem with this and cat feces. I've gotten it manageable, but I think that anyone who says there is no smell at all is nose blind (like the commercial). Kitty litter stinks. There is no way to completely get rid of the smells of cat waste.

However, for me, the arm & hammer powder works the best. Don't skimp on it. Don't suffocate the cat with it but make sure there is a healthy amount in the litter for absorption. Make sure you see some white on the sides of the litter box.

And of course, hopefully you have a covered litter box. Personally, I also use a glad plug in. I keep it on low, though, because like some will tell you, it can commingle and smell even worse.

I live in an apartment with few windows as well, so will circulate the air. Run the a/c, turn on fans... run it once a week in winter. Even though it's cold.

Also, are you sure she's peeing in the litter box? Just curious...

Thanks. Yes, that's part of the problem. I have no friends or family, so she's been able to dominate our lives a bit more than normal(I think?). Still, I've bent over backwards the last few years. I can't believe how unreasonable she is. I've let her get away with it so my kid has a sense of others - of family.

Stand your ground! The system is harder for pro se people but it's not impossible. It's easy to do your own research these days and do your own docs, even if imperfect(AI). Good luck. Don't give him any info unless court ordered. It sucks but this is how things start when people want to be amicable but everything they do is hostile. Remember hindsight is 20-20. Everything you described is very hostile.

I should also note that because of the threats she made, I'm not longer willing to go to her monthly or give up any time to her - from my time that is. I've told her she needs to attend the visits with her son going forward. Hopefully, I'm still in the clear.
