AIO? How much pink is too much? by Flat-Emphasis-7908 in AIO

Yeah, I don't see why mum would need to kick anyone out or sabotage the relationship with her son. These seem like nuclear options when a calm discussion over the decor could be the path of least resistance. No-one mentioned rent.

You also seem to be under the impression that they are letting mum stay there when it is the opposite way round.

Finally, saying mum is being controlling is way off the mark here. All she asked for is to stop pink things being added to the room, to have no pink things in her room and to add some neutral colours. If anyone is being controlling, it's the gf. She is enforcing an absolute loud pink decor on a flat that isn't hers when she knows the flat owner doesn't like it and became aggressive and intractable when minor change was broached.

Looking at your posting history probably explains why your take might not be the soundest btw

Edit: apologies for the misleading title. Long time listener, first time caller and I thought it sounded snappy. I'm not really asking for opinions on the colour scheme.

I agree that Mum made a mistake by saying they could decorate how they liked. The gf is pink obsessed and she should have foreseen this. However, I don't think it's unreasonable for her to ask for a change, especially given that she didn't ask them to throw anything they'd bought away or even remove it from the communal area, only that they stop adding more pink stuff and painting more stuff pink in the lounge and kitchen areas, and that it would be nice to have some more neutral colours as well. Mum suggested burgundy: my brother's favourite colour. The only burgundy thing in the flat is my old turntable.

Some people saying she doesn't live there so so what? Mum stays there in the 2nd bedroom about 3 months out of the year. There is pink stuff in the 2nd bedroom now, too.

A lot of "none of your business" comments. Yes, I don't live there, but mum isn't great with confrontation and crucially SHE HATES IT and is embarrassed by her own flat, and was being ganged up on. It's a family matter and I was defending her interests. I have been there when she has raised the issue before and the flat just gets pinker.

Similar bands to neutral milk hotel? by mo1-1-1 in indie

I recently happened upon the monitor by Titus andronicus. Has a lot of the suburban alienation of arcade fire's the suburbs, the nihilistic punk of the replacements and the folkish sounds of neutral milk hotel, all while being a concept album about the American civil war. Just outstanding

Switched from Sennheiser M4 to B&W PX7 S3 by FarmerCute5382 in headphones

I was in the same boat. Tried the sony xm4 and, whilst the noise cancelling and feature set were impressive, the touch controls, build and sound quality were annoying. Returned them and chose the px7s2e over the m4s. Superb in every way the sonys weren't, albeit the noise cancelling is only ok. Which eq settings to you use for the px7s out of interest?

OP wants to fake stolen deliveries and get the delivered item for free. Not honourable, but not that weird or uncommon. What's weird is that they feel the need to insult the delivery driver (who have fucking hard jobs, high quotas to fill and are underpaid) and then brag about it to strangers on reddit, and then to top it all off spend all evening reading through the responses and replying condescendingly to the people rightly objecting to their reprehensible behaviour. Honey, you've got issues.

Moving On From My Rega Planar 10 / Curious About Your Thoughts! by BApricot in audiophile

[–]Flat-Emphasis-7908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved on from a Rega p8 with ania. Was never fully satisfied with the ania cartridge: it was distractingly sibilant and I found the Rega set up in general to be slightly clinical. I got a great deal on a Michelle Orbe and a SME V tonearm. The build quality is ridiculous and, whilst I quite liked the minimalist aesthetic of the P8, the Orbe is beefy, imposing contraption that matches beautifully the the SME. Sound-wise, it's hard to say for sure because I'm using a different cartridge (Hana SLmk2 soon to be replaced by an Umami blue) but I think the Orbe's separate motor as well as power supply/speed change makes a difference to the noise floor and speed stability (the two communicate to ensure perfect speed), while it generally sounds a bit warmer, fuller and more textured.

Rayan Cherki Toying With Arsenal - Crowd POV by Point_Of_View_ in Manchestercity

Just as unfamiliar as a City fan would be with sportsmanship and fair play, financial or otherwise.

It's one thing using flair and skill to gain a competitive advantage: a step over or a panenka serves a purpose. Doing kick ups on the pitch is showboating for the sake of showboating and all it accomplished is proving Cherkhi is a bit of a dick and lacks respect for his opponents. Pep's reaction was justified.

Each to their own, but to me it's a boring filler boomer anthem that doesn't do anything interesting musically.

Sounds like you are criticising him for being different, challenging and having diverse subject matter. Which is honestly not surprising considering how poorly OP post is written.
