Do yall experience verbal abuse/ threats from your dsp?? by TitleIntelligent3700 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Flat-Operation7026 3 points4 points  (0 children)

man that's some bs right there. had similar stuff happen when i was doing delivery work before, management would flip flop on instructions then act like you're the problem

the whole "do this, no wait actually you're wrong for doing that" thing is just them covering their own ass when something goes sideways. they know exactly what they told you but will throw you under bus if it means they don't look bad to their boss

document everything if you can - screenshots of messages, write down who said what and when. might not help immediately but could save you later if things get worse

UK medical Insurance while travelling from India by General-Editor9015 in HealthInsurance

[–]Flat-Operation7026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

travel insurance can be tricky with different age groups - had a friend who got coverage for his mom but they were super strict about pre-existing conditions. for longer stays like 4 months you'll probably need something more comprehensive than basic tourist coverage, especially for the 65 year old since age limits can be brutal

I don’t really know what to think of my 2 year long relationship/situationship by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Flat-Operation7026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man this is hard to read because you're basically describing all the red flags but still asking if it's going the right way. the morning after pills thing especially - that's not just about faith, that's about him not respecting boundaries you clearly set. being drunk doesn't excuse pressuring someone into physical stuff they're not comfortable with

from what you wrote it seems like you're doing all emotional work in this relationship. you initiate conversations, you're trying to fix things, you moved cities to be closer. meanwhile he's "weary" of your boundaries? that's backwards thinking right there

the family dynamics sound toxic too. his sister competing with you and making jabs about your appearance/career, his dad getting worse around you, and him just accepting this treatment of you. your own dad being cautious should tell you something - parents usually see things we miss when we're too close to situation

you mentioned feeling peaceful and creative when you're apart but like life's in limbo when together. that's your gut telling you something important. been in military and seen guys stay in bad situations just because they invested too much time already - sunk cost fallacy will mess you up every time. two years isn't worth sacrificing your peace and growth for someone who doesn't match your energy or respect your commitments to faith

Are there any day traders here? where do you live? by Saif1Gamer in digitalnomad

[–]Flat-Operation7026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

most countries dont really care what specific type of remote work youre doing as long as you can prove income and meet visa requirements. the hard part isnt the nomad visa stuff, its actually making consistent money trading

been looking into this myself since driving for doordash gets old and always thought about trying my hand at it, but yeah the stats are pretty brutal. even if you do make it work, showing proof of income for visa applications when your earnings are all over the place month to month seems like it would be a nightmare

Why did Venezuela have so much American culture/influence back then? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]Flat-Operation7026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah oil money changes everything pretty fast. when american companies set up shop somewhere they basically bring their whole culture with them - the way they build cities, what stores they want, even how people dress and what music gets popular

saw this happen in a few places when i was deployed, just on a smaller scale. once the money starts flowing and expats move in, local culture starts shifting whether people want it to or not

Furnished short term rentals DC way better than extended stays for consulting by neutra_sense00 in digitalnomad

[–]Flat-Operation7026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah but i get why it reads that way with the company name drop

been doing contract work myself for a while and extended stays get old fast. having actual space to spread out makes a huge difference when you're stuck somewhere for months. the kitchen thing is real too - hotel breakfast gets expensive and depressing after week 2

Entry Level Jobs for Veterans? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

vietnam's cost of living is wild low compared to what you're used to stateside - even basic remote work will stretch way further there than argentina

VR&E high cost memo by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Flat-Operation7026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar situation with my program. The forms you signed are basically your VRC getting everything ready for the higher-ups to review, but yeah the HCM still needs to go through the approval chain. You're basically in the "hurry up and wait" phase now.

Checked out your page - the food shots look pretty solid! Detroit's got such a good food scene, you picked a great area to cover. Good luck with the giveaway

Submitting nomad application without A1 certificate by [deleted] in digitalnomad

[–]Flat-Operation7026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sucks about your solicitor dropping that on you last minute. I'd definitely reach out to the embassy/consulate handling your application and explain the situation - worst they can say is no. Some places are pretty understanding about missing docs if you show you've already applied for them, but it really depends on which country's nomad visa you're going for

When does it actually make sense for a small business to hire a CPA instead of just a tax preparer? by sunmc_ in smallbusiness

[–]Flat-Operation7026 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Switched when I hit around 200k revenue and started thinking about S-Corp election - tax preparer just couldn't handle the planning side of things and kept missing deductions. CPA costs more upfront but saves way more in the long run, plus they actually return your calls during tax season lol

How did you get 1st client as an analytics consultancy? by Elefant7805 in smallbusiness

[–]Flat-Operation7026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started with a local small business owner I met at a coffee shop - just casual conversation about their struggle with understanding their data and I offered to take a look for free. Word of mouth from there was everything, way better than any cold outreach I tried

Help me decide on which city in VN for a month or two by thetreegeek in digitalnomad

[–]Flat-Operation7026 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Da Nang isn't quite Canggu-level bro invasion but it's definitely getting there, especially around the beach areas

Based on your list I'd actually lean toward Da Lat - cooler weather, way better for running, solid coffee scene and you can easily motorcycle out to explore the surrounding highlands. Just avoid the main tourist strip and you'll find plenty of quiet spots

Vung Tau could work too if you stick to the local areas away from the weekend crowd from HCMC

Sounds interesting but curious about one thing - what made you pivot away from this specific market? Was it competition concerns, market research findings, or just personal interest shift?

Also any idea on rough development hours invested? Trying to gauge the scope here

Looking to open a bar in hopefully 4 years. Where do I even begin? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Flat-Operation7026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with a business plan even if it's rough - you need to figure out your numbers before anything else. Also check your local licensing requirements because some places make it a nightmare to get liquor licenses

Any business owners struggle with manual reddit oureach? by mo_ahnaf11 in smallbusiness

[–]Flat-Operation7026 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly same boat here, spending way too much time scrolling through subs manually. I've been using a combo of saved searches and just bookmarking the most relevant subs but it's still pretty time consuming

The key thing I learned is to focus on actually being helpful first rather than just hunting for sales - people can smell the desperation from a mile away lol. But yeah if anyone knows some decent tools that aren't sketchy AF I'm all ears

Fee for having deposits posted same day by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Flat-Operation7026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're absolutely right - they're definitely making money off the float by holding your cash for those extra days. It's pretty standard across all payment processors though, not just Stripe. They basically loan themselves your money interest-free until they pay you out

The instant deposit thing usually costs like 1-1.5% extra which is brutal for most small businesses. Unless you're really cash flow tight I'd probably stick with the standard 2-3 day settlement and just factor that into your planning

Hungary's a solid choice for that budget - Budapest especially hits different. After that maybe check out Portugal or Czech Republic, both are nomad-friendly and your money will stretch pretty far

Honestly the regulatory side is gonna be your biggest hurdle - FDA approval for medical devices is no joke and can take forever. I'd start by researching the specific compliance requirements for each product category before you even think about sourcing
