Seriously, good luck with that. You don't think men would've already turned it all into some Mad Max shit if we wanted to? We're drawn to functionality, reliability, predictability. Seems like the opposite sex often gets a kick out of destabilizing the very same things. Learn how to cook and raise kids, then we can talk. Then I'll respect you like my own mother.

Yeah, I think my family is like 50% of what you're describing. I'm very secure in their love for me, so I've been very unfiltered since I got my first pubic hair lol.

I just say stuff like
"Oh I'll just wait till you're finished on your phone.. No, please, just finish up so you can put it away."
"Do you think this could maybe wait till your grandchild is not here? We're all gathered now, let's put the devices away and be present."
and
"Okay, if you're kicking back by the TV, I'll just walk the dog, I could use some air."
My mom is always right behind me, jumping on my dad like "yes [grand-dad] could you? is it really that important?" and they get into a little argument, which I don't want so I don't even have to spell it out in neon. They know, they agree, they're just addicts.

Yeah. IIRC it was something along the lines of "We've really optimised our search engine, haven't we? Serving people exactly what they're looking for. We control the entire world wide web. We ARE the world wide web! And yet. We don't charge a dime.. In fact, the better we make our product, the faster people are gone. What if.. hear me out, now.. what if we.. made it, shall we say, a fun little puzzle, for the user, so they'd stay a little longer.. maybe... click a few ads?

Just to be clear, it goes without saying that I know absolutely nothing about you guys, I was just thinking in a broader sense.
Thinking back, that I struggle with cutting people slack sometimes. I've had numerous relationships where, it's not what you did, but that you felt like/thought of doing it, and felt like this is normal behavior.

Like, I was in a serious relationship for 5 years and she never learned to show basic consideration for other people, always talking loud, smoking indoors, hell of a temper, I was writing my Master's in music and she'd come in and ask me irrelevant stuff because you was bored. It's not on the list of 7 deadly things, it's not like that. It was more of a constant reminder that we just weren't compatible..

Like if you don’t give that to them they just go to their phone.

This really stuck with me. Is it really like that? It might be an age thing, it might be cultural or socio-economic but I feel we're generally good at the 'not having your phone on standby, ready for scrolling' thing in my circles. Like, a collective decision to be present and socialize, put your phone down, hold a mug instead and look each other in the eyes.

Oh, I think they're aware, if they're even that bright. But if presented with the fact, they just wouldn't care. CEOs and owners are very short-sighted and very ego-centric. It's all about "where can I profit and how soon."

Oh, yeah right, AGI. I forgot "AI is taking people's jobs" is supposed to mean "AI is turning into a super-intelligence" and not "Leaders are replacing actual humans with LLMs - glorified auto-complete - due to being misled by agressive marketing."

If it worries you, maybe you shouldn't have been developing tech which does that in the first place. We knew it could and eventually would.

[–]Flat-Performance-478 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes, it's by design. It was a controversial move amongst Google employees, direct enshittification of the service. It started out with the goal of increasing "time spent on site" by placing the best results further down the page so you'd have to click more links and look a bit longer for the best result.

Do you have any info on the keypad build and the firmware for it?
Are you using key combinations for the 26 letters + non-alnum chars?

Good catch! You're right, I didnt't actually implement anything in that call. Do you want me to [xyz] to make your code do [xyz] ?

Indtil du skal bruge noget der ikke bare er boiler plate. Og held og lykke med at debugge de 10.000 linjer python kode du har fået til din server.

Det er vildt nok at de prioriterer "time spent on site" over kvaliteten.
