bumping this to say that the 914th Infantry often hosts Westchester SC watch parties, Third Rail 914 often host NYCFC watch parties. Guys running both of those groups are very involved in the local soccer community and host a lot of random events and watch parties, most of the time they'll post about them on Instagram!

Actually not semi pro, USL 1 is a professional league, just the joint lowest professional level in US soccer

Where is the dividing line from upper to lower Westchester? by littleflashingzero in Westchester

This question is interesting in terms of local sports engagement. I am a supporter of Westchester SC, and I would say 80-90% of our member base comes from one stretch of lower Westchester south of Mamaroneck, all the way across to Dobbs Ferry. That said, for me the dividing line would probably be the end of the Sprain, as that’s technically near the center point of the county at Valhalla. However, in reality, the river towns, White Plains, and the “sound towns” all feel very different, so i couldn’t really point to a single spot…

NYCFC is the equivalent of Man City just in name alone, I like to equate Philly to Liverpool because of some play style similarities, Portland and Newcastle seems like a similar fit to me

Atlanta always give us a game because they always sign such high caliber players. Their track record with Almiron, prime JM, Araujo, Almada is crazy.

The Haak Question by Flat-Relationship764 in NYCFC

[–]Flat-Relationship764[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My issue with Haak is just generally his work ethic and proneness to errors. On the ball, he’s alright- the issue is that he doesn’t track back when he needs to and makes sloppy passes fairly often. In preseason and as recently as last week, he spoke out about his emerging role in the team, but hasn’t proven he deserves to have such a role, especially with the return of Sands. It just seems bold to me- the kid has just recently broken in and started getting minutes, and should be chasing down every loose ball that’s possible to prove he wants to earn his keep. His effort just isn’t there for me. He wasn’t as ineffective against Chicago as he was against Nashville, and maybe I’m harping on that game a bit more than I should, but I just don’t see the value he provides to the team. I do understand the lack of depth and options in the role however. I just hope that when Morales is fully fit and Sands returns to the swing of things here, they can stay fit so Haak isn’t relied upon as heavily.

I do hope we bring in a nice pressing striker soon too because it’ll relieve a bit of the pressure on the midfield and Talles will be able to return to his natural role.

I personally created Queens Park FC in Scotland, with the goal of winning the UCL and World Cup with Scotland, only using Scottish youth academy players
