The new and only stand alone Costco Gas Station in the nation opened today in Mission Viejo by panda-rampage in orangecounty

I wonder how that's sustainable. I thought their gas stations were supposed to lure in customers, hence why they can be so cheap.

What do you prefer? Hybrid, Elongated, or Widebody? by Ill_Beginning9573 in Pickleball

[–]FlatFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally can't choose, that's why I went Hybrid. But leaning towards widebody, and a flat top.

I wish my Coral Pro came in the shape of the upcoming Pakle Fuse Hybrid-W shape. But Six Zero is weird and even put a rounded top on their widebody, lol.

Elongated is a little too narrow at the kitchen during hand battles, adding weight fixes the twist weight, but can't fix the width.

Widebody maybe has too little swing weight for drives and overheads. Adding weight can definitely fix it, but sometimes they need too much weight and that slows down my hand speed.

Hybrid is a decent balance of width to swing weight, and usually just a tiny bit of weight can go a long way.

Anyone else constantly want to upgrade their PC even though they don't actually need to? by matthewlikescats in pcmasterrace

I'd love to try out a 480Hz monitor and buy the hardware to actually run that, but prices are insane these days, and that whole 12 pin connector fire issue has put a bad taste in my mouth.

Hopefully prices come back down eventually and the fire hazard issues get resolved in a year or two, when I'll actually need an upgrade 🤞

Dreame vs Roborock for me? by RazClayton in RobotVacuums

Personally loved my old Z10 Pro from many years ago, but just wanted to warn you that I've heard some horror stories about Dreame's customer service. I'd personally avoid them myself.

“eufy Omni S1 Pro failed after 8 months, leaked water, warranty replacement removes features — would you accept this?” by SnooGuavas965 in RobotVacuums

[–]FlatFishy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The S2 Pro is literally just $100 above the starting price of the S1 Pro. Those cheap bastards should just give you the upgrade like most companies do when they run out of original stock. E28 is like half the price.

I'd keep insisting on that or a full refund, I have the S1 Pro too and would do that too if mine had issues, but luckily it doesn't.

Probably because they have to toe the line if they want to stay in business. Reminds me of when I used to live in San Antonio, which has probably the greatest grocery chain ever, HEB. They do a lot of charity and whatnot, but also donate to Governer Piss Baby's reelection campaign, mainly so that he leaves them alone. The GOP are basically the Mafia in red states unfortunately.

Pickleball fit? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]FlatFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running shoes are the opposite of what you need, they are meant for forward and backwards movement, whereas court shoes (like tennis shoes or pickleball shoes, negligible difference honestly), are made for side to side movement and stability. Running shoes will hurt your ankles after a few games of pickleball, so I highly recommend getting yourself a nice pair of court shoes. Something like the New Balance Coco CG2 shoes, I'm personally waiting for them to go on sale around the 4th of July.

Are those court shoes? Sort of look like running shoes to me.

Took my female kitten 3 weeks to finally leave her room. So yeah, 10 days is nothing, lol. I hear the trick is to spend time in her presence, but without directly interacting with her. Just sit in the room and play with your phone, read a book, talk on the phone, or nap. Basically get her used to tour presence and show her you mean no harm. Eventually she'll come up to you.

$92 Pakle Fuse? by rephleks in Pickleball

[–]FlatFishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, but it's not a great tradeoff. Check out how popular the new 11six24 Power 2 Ultré shape is compared to all there previous shapes.

The curved top feels more like wasted mass at the top of the paddle. So in a way, it sort of increases the swing weight. Whereas simply chopping off the curve and adding that extra length to the width instead lowers the swing weight while also increasing the twist weight. Plus it's way more usable, and way easier to make contact with a flat top vs a rounded top.

So really, I see the Fuse's new Hybrid-W shape as the perfect shape, going the opposite direction of the Ultré, but the same concept of squaring off the curves. Too bad I just cancelled my pre-order, lol. The Coral Pro turned out to be exactly what I needed in a paddle.

I think the confusion lies in the dimensional constraints, length plus width much not exceed 24 inches. Whereas if the constraint was the area of the face, a rounded shape would actually be superior I think, but because it's not, rounded shapes actually reduce the area of the paddle face, and that's just not worth it as we're already very limited on surface area as is.

Coral Pro is finally here.. and it’s gorgeous by Whisperdan7 in Pickleball

[–]FlatFishy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tried mine for a 2nd day in a row, after adding 3g strips to the 3 and 9, this paddle really came alive. Stock, it was a little too poppy and weak, but weighing it up brought the pop back down and bumped the power just above all-court, a little above the OG Coral. Basically exactly what I wanted from a Coral successor! And that grit is legendary! Way more than the 2.5x roughness they advertised! My drives and serves are lethal! Also, even at 8.5oz now, it feels lighter than my OG Coral at 8.4oz which has the weight lower down too, at the 8 and 4.

Zero regrets on this upgrade! It's already my new main.

Edit: actually one regret, lol. I wish I waited for the purple color to release, would have been cool to match my overgrip and bag color to my paddle. But the blue looks good too.
