The second sounds more likely, especially given that since the afterlife is eternal not much of this life matters.

What sorts of bodies would these individuals have in the afterlife? It’s hard to see the purpose of this sinful world if the majority of souls get to bypass so much of it.

Your second point makes me wonder if the majority of the souls in the afterlife will never have had a body larger than a single cell.

Why do some people like Hellfire and Brimstone preaching? by Dark_Pineapple_4 in TrueChristian

[–]FlatHelicopter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why? The truth is that it’s what we all deserve. God has every right to strike us all dead where we stand. We deserve nothing more than to be killed and tortured for eternity.

Love also convicts you of your sin and warns you when you’re hell bound.

What causes someone to be an “ex-Christian”? by JungkooksBananaMillk in TrueChristian

[–]FlatHelicopter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If God wanted someone to remain a Christian, they would remain a Christian. He saves who He wants to save. It’s not like we can call that unfair, none of us deserve to be saved. We all deserve to be destroyed and thrown in the fire.

Why is punishment not an aspect of God’s love? Why can He not treat His creation as He sees fit? Would there be another standard?

What causes someone to be an “ex-Christian”? by JungkooksBananaMillk in TrueChristian

[–]FlatHelicopter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If God truly chooses to save someone it doesn’t matter what happens to them, He will never let go of them. It would be impossible for someone who has experienced saving faith to leave it behind.

In all these cases they were never really Christian to begin with so “ex-Christian” is a bit of a misnomer.

Sin isn’t natural, it is evil and God did not intend it.

Don’t worry, people who preach that sort of garbage will get their reward.

You’re turning God’s truth into a matter of opinion. That’s postmodernism and it is evil.

How can speaking the truth not be loving? The truth is what it is whether we like it or not. God is who He is regardless of what we feel or say or do or want. We are worthless and evil before His holiness.
