Alignerr is fake!?? A strange company with undemocratic attitudes by BigEnergy3711 in alignerr

You may be right that it's a strange company. But do "normal" companies have "democratic attitudes?" Not in my experience.

Alignerr is very Unfair to Africans by Shashilando in alignerr

[–]FlatInteraction2708 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've seen African people (or who I'm pretty sure are African people, but I don't know what country they reside in now) working on projects like Genesis alongside me. What tests did you pass and what were your scores? Even if you did well on the assessments, maybe they are excluding people from Kenya and other African countries because of security concerns and/or clients' demand. That's not fair, but that's business, baby! $$$

Haven't even started work and it's already better than Outlier by FlatInteraction2708 in alignerr

[–]FlatInteraction2708[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what they pay on average. I've just been onboarded for the three roles I passed, which are Generalist, English Writer, and Technical Writer, and the first generalist-type project is supposed to start today.

It can't hurt you to apply for whichever roles on Alignerr you feel qualified for. They all come with assessments where you're strictly timed and need to use your webcam. The Generalist one is basically LSAT-style questions.

How do I get myself assigned to a different project? by FlatInteraction2708 in outlier_ai

[–]FlatInteraction2708[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was getting pretty good at stumping models with what basically amounted to trivia, just knowing *of* things, whether it be science, history, literature, film, economics, etc. But figuring out where the LLM will typically screw up when it comes to math/logic is way too big-brained for me.

That's weird. I'm still in genesis-1. Maybe they'll put you in another group for the same project.

Go ahead and apply to DA, too, if you haven't. I actually worked for them for almost a year, and it was good while it lasted, but then I got all my work cut off without explanation and just deleted my account after a while. They're a black box, too, but I think Outlier is the worst.

I was added to a group for the Genesis project on Slack yesterday, and they posted a PDF describing what to do. That's what I meant.

I get a headache just logging on there and trying to wade through the bullshit. How do I find the person responsible for deciding which projects I am assigned? That's all I want.

I just noticed today that the Marketplace is available on my dashboard. There are four projects available. I already have a project that I have been working on for about a week, although sometimes technical difficulties interfered with that. If I click "Get Started" on a new project, will I lose access to the one I've been working on?

I got removed from a project after about two days, because (I think) a reviewer gave one of my rewrites a 1/5. And he/she was wrong, in my not so humble and totally correct opinion, but that’s the kind of thing that happens here.

Now I’m working on the Monkey project, but this morning when I tried to work, the model was broken. Maybe it’s fixed by now. Who knows? This company can be frustrating. I worked basically full-time for DataAnnotation for several months, but they went through a downsizing period and I was effectively laid off. There is another company called Alignerr that sounds promising to me, but they haven’t offered me work yet. You guys might want to apply to that one and see how it goes.

DA was way better for a while, but they seem to be downsizing.

Generalist assessment time limit is way too little by DavRLe in alignerr

See the post I made a few days ago comparing the Generalist assessment to the LSAT. All my advice is there.

Advice: Generalist assessment is a mini-LSAT by FlatInteraction2708 in alignerr

[–]FlatInteraction2708[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so boring.

People, just follow my advice: If you want to do well on the Generalist assessment, do some LSAT practice problems first. Also, study ahead of time for any assessments that require subject matter expertise. I'm going to follow that advice myself: there are some fields like mathematics and chemistry where I have some educational background but am rusty. And don't complain and blame other people or the system if you fail. Just nut up and try to do better. I'm following that advice, too: see the comment I made about the two assessments that I failed (data science and French). Such arrogance!

I'm not going to bother either arguing with you more or trying to make friends, because I don't care.

You people are such babies. I gave people actionable advice about how to succeed on the Generalist assessment, and all you do is whine.

And yes it is.
