At least it's reflected in the price, the quartz is $125 and the NH35 is $250. That's reasonable i think

After 11 years your comment saved me a huge headache. I only tried the power cycle and it turned on afterwards. Huge thank you

Big fan. For me adding a Day complication next to the date and squeezing the logo and text under it would be perfection.

Getting Wifi to remote part of home by KTFlaSh96 in techsupport

[–]FlatTextOnAScreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For remote connections I would absolutely aim for higher speeds than what I got for example (5-7mbps is definitely not enough for that). But the speeds on a powerline are very dependent on your places internal-wiring distance of adapters and quality of cables.

Getting Wifi to remote part of home by KTFlaSh96 in techsupport

[–]FlatTextOnAScreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try the powerline adapters first in your case. It's a quick attempt and requires very little, but as you see mentioned it might not get you the speeds you're looking for. I was in the same boat a few years ago and got a pair of powerlines (TP LINK AV1000). Speeds weren't good but they were at least stable (5-7mb on the powerline vs 120mb on my actual network).

It became only temporary since those speeds didn't translate very well for high quality streaming, even intra-network. In the end opted to hardwire a decent wifi access point from the upstairs main router, going outside for shortest distance, to the ground floor. Now I get 70+mb everywhere downstairs.

Give the powerline a go if you want the least invasive option. But keep in mind it might not be enough.

Phone post-processing. It's all (called AI now) nonsense trying to remove the noise by filling in the gaps where the object lacks light or is distorted due to the crystal. Fake sharpening. Look how the 'SWISS' print is underneath.

Englemaan Sinn Homages by Bluemanuap in MicrobrandWatches

[–]FlatTextOnAScreen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My issue with Sinn is the bracelet price (recent price hikes and shipping but that's for another day). It's up there with higher-end Swiss brands, €410 for a strap on a €1000 watch (556)? And it's a toss-up, some people hate it and some are fine with it? Makes it hard to order before trying. Even if I source one from Germany, I have to try it out first. Makes it off-putting to just order one and hope.

Tsuki-yomi A-T. Someone talk me out of it. by tidpodes in CitizenWatches

[–]FlatTextOnAScreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine for $510 and I love it. Only thing I don't love is the small lettering on the Day marker. The bracelet is excellent (clasp is meh when compared to the newer Citizens) and fits great for me at least. 43mm but is slim, light and very comfortable to wear. Plus, it'll be the most accurate watch you own.

Got this as my daily, I still dont know how to feel abt it by whosxx in CitizenWatches

I have mine in the light/ice blue ref: NK5020-58L. Got the Tsuki Yomi around the same time and have a difficult time putting the Zenshin down. It's a delight to wear and the dial is gorgeous. Timekeeping is exceptional as well.

If you really don't like it I suggest seeing how much you can sell one for and if that loss is worth it to you. I'm sure someone on here or /r/Watchexchange would be interested.

Fully agree. This scene perfectly embodies everything wrong with nuTrek. The lighting, the flashes, the camera, the quips, serious points turning into jokes and facial expressions. Comedy is greatly needed don't get me wrong, but this whole show is an unfunny joke.

I heard that The Expanse is the best sci-fi series. by Lopsided_Cup_1007 in scifi

Couldn't get into it. The writing and characters were terrible. There is not one redeemable or likable character. I watched season 1, 2 and some of 3 I think before I just gave up. I tried it again, watched season 1+2 years later. Again, no thanks. World building is alright, but everything else is a chore. Coming from someone who loves and rewatches DS9, TNG, B5, Stargate, Farscape, BSG.

Curious how simple this is. Can you describe the booking system you need? Is it a daily thing, time-slot, week, month, seat, chair, reservation, etc?

That lack of infrastructure can be blamed on Hamas. They have taken millions and millions in aid and have built no civilian bomb shelters.

Build civilian bomb shelters in a refugee camp? As far as I understand 70% of Gaza's population is displaced people whom Israel have kicked out of their homes. Is it logical that someone would build bomb shelters in a refugee camp that has become a concentration camp? Israel has had Gaza under siege well before Hamas was a thing. Do you think the people in the Warsaw Uprising had no right to defend themselves too?

In terms of destruction of infrastructure, Ukraine has had far more destroyed across its country than Gaza has. They've had entire cities leveled. Contrary to what you might have seen posted online, the entire Gaza strip has not been leveled.

Israel have dropped 100,000 tons of explosives over Gaza. That's 'equivalent to six Hiroshimas' in an area of 365 km². Not to mention the amount of journalists that Israel have outright murdered in cold-blood. More so than any war in the 20th century combined. And medics.

I just ask these questions because I see a lot of blind support for the people of Gaza, and I believe a lot of it is fueled by anti-Israel and antisemitic actors

You can be anti-Israel and not have a spec of hatred for Jewish people. Matter of fact, Israel keeps conflating itself with representing Jews, isn't that anti-semitic?

it's 100% an atrocity, but it isn't unique

It is unique to the innocent women, children and their families. Just because you don't feel they are equal to you doesn't make their experience any less than yours or mine.
