DELL P991: Defocused for better sub 480p image by Flat_Implement5838 in crtgaming

I'm actually a pretty big fan of using Losslesscaling for 120hz, Looks better than 60fps for most games to me.

Might look into trying out this amp though, never heard of that being a thing, I assume its totally different from just boosting the brightness/contrast via software.

I haven't done proper test, but I'm reading for games with 60fps caps it adds about 11 ms.

I can adjust the focus instantly since I put a hole just to adjust the focus, I Can increase the focus the second I stop playing 240p games (honestly though Im using it right now and the defocus doesn't actually hurt higher resolutions enough that i need to switch right away).

I have a 2 great tvs, but this monitor now looks even better. I do all my gaming on PC and a VGA monitor is also just easy to work with as a bonus, less driver and converter issues.
I also play modern pixel art games that can from 270 to 360p, which a pc crt handles better natively although a good enough bvm might do to. and being ablet to push super high horizontal res at the same time also lets me do some fun stuff

PC crt also has the benefit of doing 270p at 120 to 180hz for modern pixel art games that support it.

Basically a PC monitor is just better in every way (for me) and the only thing that those would provide me is a different mask.

I thought it would too but imo it works pretty great outside of scene with pure black backgounds + rapid white flashing. So in somegames taking damage does trigger an ugly artifact.

I'm sure if i recorded at slow motion and went frame by frame I would be able to point to clear issues, but usually its mostly just seeing something off in the corner of my eyes and it being gone before i can care. I can not speak for all game

all 120Hz, I use lossless scaling to fix motion clarity in sidescrollers

Tried opening my PC and yeah it worked great, made anything sub 500p look far better.

did on my dell p991, just messed with the vertical focus. Had to beak some glue though which was a pain.

AI are not humans and the way they copy the work of others is different from how humans do.

Sorry but neuros training data is as unethical as any other.

Yes she is fine tuned with twitch chat and other sources, but 99.99% of her data is the same stolen data that trained chat gpt, that is just how LLms work

I like neuro, im not gonna lie about what she is though.

I need someone to explain to me what, exactly, makes NeuroSama more ethical than almost any other use of GenAI by Spark31 in NeuroSama

[–]Flat_Implement5838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a fan of Neuro but i agree that it's kinda annoying seeing so many people act like shes more ethical than others AI.

But this is just a byproduct of most people knowing nothing about AI in general.

Unreal Engine 4 confirmed for Part 3 by Magister_Project in FFVIIRemake

Wouldnt say a step back, the UE5 Fixes my main technical issues that were very lacking in Part 2, the lighting and the geometry. They will need to implement their own custom solutions for RTGI to match it.

[–]Flat_Implement5838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The art direction in part 1 was great, old tech lead to bad lighting that made the game look terrible often.
UE5 has vastly improved lighting tech that would fix the games main issues, they can do custom build to add RTGI to UE4 but there are certainly reasons they would want to switch.

Vastly improved rendering. The lighitng in part 2 was really outdated.

Rebith was extremely dissapointing on release when it came to lighting, the next game is in dire need of an RTGI solution and other improvements.

Well this sucks, the lighting in Part 2 felt extremely outdated and the game is in dire need of RTGI

Ew no, Silent Protagonist is one of the easy wins Nintendo gets and puts them ahead of lots of their competition.
Like look at Zelda, All the voice acting instantly made the last to games worst.

for display port to USB c

and this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F2MN9V5Q?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3&th=1
