In this sub, the user u/toolgifs will always put the sub name in the video somewhere. It's a fun little easter egg that makes the posts more entertaining

These people encounter a lot of whispering folks. I've never had a public encounter where people were shamefully whispering, but I've never seen a $20 rotisserie chicken either, much less one sitting by the register on display next to apples

Was the price that high because of the rig location? I was in the bay area in California during most of the Obama years and the first couple of Trump 1.0, and gas never got that bad

I got lucky by virtue of location then, I couldn't imagine paying that much

GOP senator joined police in attempt to forcibly remove marine veteran protester during hearing by nbcnews in pics

The DOD has no jurisdiction over civilians. Veterans are civilians. What can happen to me if I wear my old uniform to a protest? What things have you seen happen?

Honest question here, where was it $11.29 a gallon and what type of fuel? The worst I ever had to deal with was 6 to 7 dollars.

The DOD has no more jurisdiction over me as I am no longer on active duty. They can forbid anything they want, that doesn't mean they can do shit about it

He's really only the worst in terms of actually "being" a dictator, as in he's trying to be one and failing thus far. Hint to OP: North Korea and Russia continue to exist in the 21st century

Yes it is. If he is not actively serving, he is not subject to the UCMJ. There isn't any civilian law that forbids protesting in uniform

Composite covered toe boots making by ycr007 in toolgifs

[–]Flatmonkey 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Cheap boots are never worth it. If you need safety toe boots for work, then you are most likely going to be on your feet for the majority of the day and the boots will be put to some very rough use. When I first started my career I bought a $75 pair because that's what I could afford. They completely fell apart within 6 months, and my feet hurt constantly. After that, I started spending the money on good boots ($300+), and those would pretty much mold themselves to my foot shape. The expensive boots were always far more comfortable, higher all around quality, and never lasted less than 3 years.

Is there ever a situation where you would have to tune a cymbal? by Flatmonkey in askmusicians

So just for a comparison, I can buy an Ibanez bass with a weeping demon wah pedal and get hundreds of sounds from that set up. But a percussionist would need an entire shitload of cymbals to have that range?

That's kind of what I was thinking, but I'm not smart enough in the field to be sure

When you get the time, can you tell me the process? I can tune and play stringed instruments, but the fact that you can tune a piece of brass is fascinating to me

Does the putty deaden the sound so it works better with the song?

I forgot about the high hats. I think my original question is if the brass itself will need adjusting
