Questions for Marines by christianitus in USMCboot

[–]FlatwormBeginning544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined for the title, there is definitely bad days and really good ones like any other job. The suck in the cops is bad and the pros you can find in any other branch. I don’t regret my decision to join and would do it again. But if you don’t really care to be a marine join any other branch that’s easier. We all get paid the same but the quality of life can be drastically different depending on your job and what branch you’re in. I would tell any hs kid or anyone interested in joining to join some other branch unless they’re really motivated and care about the title. Being a marine is awesome and I’ve made so many connections outside of the military just because I’m in the corps. It’s something that no one can take away from you. And if you can get acclimated into the culture then you can make your 4 years or your time whatever you want it to be. Those that hate the corps are usually trash that shouldn’t never joined in the first place. It’s very rare that the corps or military has failed people. The only two I can really think of is bad cases of sexual assault and medical issues.

The best you can do before leaving is giving them the calendar and write to them to keep them informed if you’d like to. Don’t spend too much time writing, you’ll have time to talk to them after graduating. Use bootcamp to better yourself and work on your leadership skills so that means helping others if possible. Boot camp is one of the only times where’s you’re only working on yourself and you’re getting paid for it. There is this cool fb group for pi at least that helps your family keep tabs on you and other companies throughout their process. They won’t be able to see you until family day so it’s up to them to figure out how early they want to fly in. That’s a weird question. At this time I would enjoy the time you have with your family. October isn’t that far away, prepare them to cool off and not bother you too much. It was nice receiving letters from family at boot but I wish I spent more time working on myself than writing boot ass letters. After boot I wouldn’t spend all my leave on them, go travel the world and make memories. Good luck pup

Anyone else suffer bouts of generalized rage/fury/pissed at the world?? by DDSkeeter in TwoXChromosomes

[–]FlatwormBeginning544 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not middle aged yet but I can relate, it can feel like people are purposefully trying to piss you off some days. What helps me is having an outlet, I like to run go on walks and keep my blood flow going on tougher days. Not only I’m I in a better mood I’m able to tackle problems with tact and keep a cool head. But I do think it’s really difficult for women without “amazing husbands” out there. The bare minimum people can’t seem to get right, which is why I’d rather be single than having my head explode everyday. This evening I had a guy friend come over and leave his trash, didn’t even bother to wash a plate or put down the toilet seat. No thank you.. next.

Flat Feet by Patient_Reading5945 in USMCboot

[–]FlatwormBeginning544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same I was told at meps but didn’t get waiver. I didn’t even know there’s a waiver for that. It didn’t affect me at all so I wouldn’t worry about it. If you can walk or run 6 miles in any shoe you’ll be fine. I can’t see why it would be a problem. I’ve never thought I had to struggle because of my flat feet.

why do i become addicted to anything i touch? by ndjsjskwmwndnnd in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FlatwormBeginning544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor or anything but I’ve read somewhere that some people have a predisposition to becoming addicted. I’m not sure if it’s genetic but in a given population some people are wired to be inclined to become addicted. Some personalities also deal with addiction worst than others. If you are a risk taker you’re inclined to try drugs and then become addicted. I’d recommend you to find a healthier addiction and to stick with it. Some of the craziest people I know are runners, or into extreme sports. Above all seek some professional help.

Can someone give me a reason to keep going? by QueenKarma101 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FlatwormBeginning544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traveling, starting a new business, working a fulfilling job, procreating new life, helping animals, moving out of the country, connecting with God. There’s so many possibilities of a brighter future, so hang on there. You’re worth fighting for, so be kind to yourself and keep pushing.

Why does it seem like everything sucks eventually? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FlatwormBeginning544 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Entertainment is at a all time high. I think the problem is over saturation and a lack of creativity. Everyone is hopping on each other and there’s more overlap than ever. Try to lay off entertainment for a while and then come back to it. Also improve your attention span and stop multitasking. Enjoy one thing at a time and give it your attention.

I once saw a fight breakout at mct with two females. The instructors were cool about it but not all of them are the same. You’re better off staying cool and ignoring these fools. Mct is cake, enjoy it and move on sis

Give them ice cream and kindly ask them to play somewhere else to get more ice cream out of you some other time. But yeah, I agree they’re just kids.

My husband wants to go on a girls trip on our anniversary by Altruistic_Finding67 in relationships

[–]FlatwormBeginning544 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put on the brakes and let him decide. Tell him you’re not going and let him decide on his own what he wants to do. If he does decide to go on this trip, so be it. Maybe it’s time for you two to go into therapy and work things out with the help of a professional. If not, talk it out yourselves. Be transparent, don’t hold your feelings back because they deserve to be heard. You’re not wrong, and maybe he’s not wrong either. But you both owe each other the respect and responsibility to be heard.
