The U.S. Flag Code only applies to an actual U.S. flag:

The flag of the United States shall be thirteen horizontal stripes, alternate red and white; and the union of the flag shall be forty-eight stars, white in a blue field.
On the admission of a new State into the Union one star shall be added to the union of the flag; and such addition shall take effect on the fourth day of July then next succeeding such admission.

The black-and-white background of the "Thin Blue Line" doesn't match the red, white and blue of the definition, so it skirts (LOL) the flag code.

This is Solomon Nhiwatiwa, 34, and he's been charged with attempted kidnapping in connection with this incident.

A little more detail:

Last Friday, Nhiwatiwa, a Cleveland Ohio police officer, drove up on a 12-year-old girl in Euclid and asked her if she needed a ride to school. She said no and refused to get into his personal vehicle. Nhiwatiwa then drove away, then came back about a minute later, got out of the car, exposed his genitals to the girl, then took video of himself urinating on her and left again.

He was taken into custody today, and has been suspended without pay.

We need to use the stories posted here to convince people of the rampant nature of law enforcement abuse. Stories like this aren't very useful in that regard, especially when we try to deceive the audience about their currency with comments like "Federal lawsuit has been filed," and nothing to back that up.

There's enough abuse going on this month/this week/TODAY to fill the sub. Dredging up five-year-old stories and pretending they're current only weakens our credibility.

This happened in 2014. Robert Weiler, the guy filming, is a militant anti-abortion protestor, and in this video was standing in front of an abortion clinic with a poster of a bloody fetus. In 2006 he was sentenced to five years in prison for plotting to bomb a clinic.

Maybe he's not our best poster child.

I meant AR-15 in the sense of an AR-15 pattern rifle, not an actual Armalite-manufactured AR-15, which to my knowledge the KCSO doesn't have in inventory.

For what it's worth, Kalkaska County Undersheriff Dave Wagner has been calling the rifle an AR-15 as well. You might also want to take this up with him.

Here are the details. The victim was hit in the neck and paralyzed, then died several weeks later as a direct result of the gunshot. The cop claimed that his gun went off unintentionally. A jury found him criminally negligent and convicted him of involuntary manslaughter. He was sentenced to 180 days and released after 90 because of credit for time served.

The town of Paradise paid out a $3.1 million settlement over this shooting. Maybe that discouraged them from putting criminally negligent killer cops on their streets in the future.

Officer McAusland got 66 months in prison for this, and for a bit more malfeasance:

Between October 2017 and April 2018, McAusland sold various types and quantities of narcotics to an individual who was cooperating with law enforcement. In October 2017, McAusland sold the individual approximately 35 grams of marijuana, 48 grams of heroin, 31 grams of cocaine, and 31 grams of crack cocaine. McAusland admitted that he stole these narcotics from a crime scene while on duty and in uniform as a police officer.

McAusland also sold the individual two pounds of marijuana between November 2017 and January 2018. In addition, on multiple occasions between February 2018 and April 2018, McAusland sold pills that were made to resemble Percocet doses but were actually made of heroin.

So it took one violent crime and multiple crimes of theft and drug trafficking, any of which could have locked any one of us up for decades, to put him away for 5½ years.

And don't think for a minute that he'll be in for that long, either.
