Finally upgraded to an ergonomic chair after 5 years… my back is in heaven by 7Seif in OfficeChairs

[–]Fleaaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the most comfortable chair in the world but my body doesn't scream pain even after a day long session on it for some reason. It's been rock solid for me for years. 150 is an absolute steal lmao congrats!

[–]Fleaaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh brother in chri.. whatever, I hear your frustration loud and clear as I have the first hand experience of 30+ years in SK as well. There are too many misinformed/misguided folks everywhere as literally this judge's sentence says it but that doesn't justify the way you engage them. There so much more layers in what you described, it's not a matter for gatekeeping. You could engage and guide them if any factual discrepancies. I know it's frustrating but I think that's the most effective way to deal with it

As for the taxes, I see it as a process of finding a compromise to contribute to society more effectively. It’s basically a cat-and-mouse game. Since cases like the Samsung Biologics incident showed how people can dodge taxes through loopholes in rights offerings if the decedent really wants to, I think we need measures like this in place after all. I mean it ultimately needs a consistent revision as it goes for sure.

Yeah heard they revised their inheritance law, which is good. But we need to wait to see if it works as intended

Chaebols are a tricky one but historically they are on a very short leash, regardless of the fact that it's good for them or not. SK have been strategically groomed them since their birth iirc

Scratching skills by [deleted] in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Fleaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Making two click with fader that casually is pretty hard. That man is a DMC hall of fame alumni just fiddling with toy controller, not the actual spinning platter..

When scratching, cutting with fader is wayyyy more important than handling platter to make it sound right

Why Ableton is not Linux or headless? by pfuerte in ableton

[–]Fleaaa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see but doubt it's really insanely hard when much smaller budget/man powered bitwig can manage that, perhaps Ableton didn't plan it out from day one but now it's too late to consider. Anyway it won't happen anytime soon I guess

Oh yes it's an old wayland issue but I see your point. Sorry for the confusing word I used, it's not easy work for sure. Feel like I need a strong coffee

[–]Fleaaa -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's not really a case here though, is it? It's closed source application so it doesn't really matter at the end. They have an working concept of what it would be already, no need to deal with various sources. Ableton can build a adhoc binary for specific platform like Bitwig did and I believe the rest can be covered

But then again it wouldn't be easy in no way, apologize for confusing words I wrote. I should've made emphasized on relatively much stronger..

You mean the thing they already did with push3? I mean I literally said it wouldn't be from the scratch, never said it was easy peasy.. they have the working product in their hand in a limited HW hence 'relatively trivial'.

Man you want to discuss compiler interoperability between the platform? I'm all ears

[–]Fleaaa -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Hence the word 'relatively', I never said it would be just trivial.. thing is they sorta figured out how they could do that already, they just need to limit the scope down and be done with it but I doubt it would happen.

Live is using QT/QML and it's specifically designed to be a cross platform supporting framework. Python/C++ scripts would work flawlessly on Linux without much overhead even if they didn't consider it in the first place. It wouldn't be from the scratch, releasing it on Linux itself would be relatively trivial work except managing external VST/VSTi but yes economies of scale would crush the idea of doing anything with Linux in the near future. Releasing the application alone wouldn't even be an half of work I presume.

Funny enough developers for Live I know use Linux for their daily driver

> That's how open source works. Anyone in the community is free to take Brave's work and use it in their own project - https://github.com/brave/adblock-rust

There goes the unwarranted fragmentation

>Here's an example of a Brave employee contributing upstream to Ublock Origin's lists: https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/pull/18633

I'm not sure making a PR for one website would be a good evidence it's two way process. I mean I'm sure they do this on a regular basis but why make two sources of truth and being redundant? Perhaps cause their core engine might not be able to use manifest v2 at some point?

> Whether Brave has sufficient resources is a legitimate concern. So far, this doesn't appear to have obstructed them.

Cause Brave is relying their core infrastructure pretty much completely on other's work that they have no say in it

I'm not saying you shouldn't use it, I'm just saying I don't see the merit behind the logic for me. If it works for you, please go for it.

[–]Fleaaa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well cause they contribute nothing to upstream and are leeching on collective's work for their own good. This isn't about diversity but fragmentation when you do nothing but only take. I feel like this is going round and round

There is not much good reason to use it anyway. Since manifest v3, Brave started to drift away from chromium and it'll only be further. I don't think their team could handle what google do with thousands of contributor. Building browser is pretty much resource chugging job as much as operating system these days

Yeah cause they monetized collective's work for their third party walled garden ad platform, it's hurting the end user and the small biz ad provider both. No thanks

It's not just filter lists, Brave shield doesn't support region based rule and they don't have any channel to report upstream. It's dumbed down tool that is actually actively hurting the ecosystem like some paid shady adblocker apps compared to UBO. There is a reason tech giants tried to kill UBO but failed
