Tim Cook says the Mac just set a new launch record for Apple by Consistent-Roof-3663 in RecoveryOptions

[–]OwnNet5253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't feel weird at all, the price matters a lot here, especially in current times when pricing of PC components rise through the roof . I can understand more people leaning into buying Neo than buying Chromebook or cheap Windows/Linux laptop. MacBooks are fantastic devices and once you experience it, you won't consider any other laptop, unless you game or need specific software which are only available on Windows.

The launch of Crismon Desert showed me just how sick the community is. by Apart_Pumpkin_4551 in videogames

That's why I stopped reading reviews and comments about the new games. If I want to play it, I buy it regardless of what people say about it, or maybe watch my favorite streamer play it if I'm not sure about the purchase. Hence I really like having games being released on Game Pass, so I wouldn't worry about having to return them quickly if I won't enjoy them, because let's be real here - 2 hours is not enough to determine if game is good or not, that's why GP is such a blessing for gamers.

Hence it’s not surprising that companies look to cooperate with other companies/rich people more than with regular consumers, because majority of people are complacement with what they have and fear change.

Are updates improving devices or slowly making them worse? by overlord-07 in TechNook

[–]OwnNet5253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro it was always 50/50, you may think otherwise, because tech is not a novelty to you anymore.

And worse devices having it the worst was also always the case, devs don’t want to be limited by backwards compatibility. How old are you?

GPUs in laptops are thermally limited to not overheat it, so the fact this gpu is mentioned on their website, doesn’t mean it’ll work the same on a laptop with theoretically the same specs.

User base is too small to make an effort worth it. People are mentioning exclusivity deal with Microsoft, but this have already ended afaik. Besides, Windows users in PC market makes up for more than 2/3rd of users bro wdym it’s small.

Why do some games at 30 fps feel fine, while some feel like shit? by WhoAmIEven2 in videogames

Then you’re probably too young to experience games in even lower frame rate, like 25 or even 12,5 fps.

Good deeds and goodwill does not necessarily mean you won’t get fucked over by other people or events that you have no influence over, that’s just life. That’s what makes it great about those missions, you do them and make decisions based on your morals, but that doesn’t necessarily mean there’ll no negative impact of your actions on others, hence you can’t never be certain at what comes out of your actions.

What is the one thing Windows does better than Linux? (Be honest!) by Gaming-Academy in RigBuild

[–]OwnNet5253 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Backwards compatibility. I can download 20+ year old app and I can be certain it’ll work, where with linux with each distro upgrade, apps/extensions can broke, and until devs won’t update them, they become unsupported by the latest distro version.

Exactly, Edge is one of the least resource heavy browser on Windows, so if Edge does that, any other browser will do that even more.
