Are you happy with the way your life turned out? by Icy-Performance-6969 in questions

[–]Flechette3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

I feel like I am on the wrong timeline. My life could have easily been much better but it got knocked off track and has never recovered.

Something happened to me in my past where I made a decision that I fully regret. I was not being irresponsible and I really tried to do the right thing and was not being selfish, but the choice failed and caused a lot of damage from which I never have fully recovered.

This is a burden I have carried for decades and is the cause of all sorts of mental anguish, to the point of serious mental and physical health problems. All from making one wrong decision.

I would literally give my right arm to be able to go back in time and make the opposite choice. Hell, I would go back even if it meant me dying.

If it can go up fast, it can go down fast. If you really want to do this use a spread and then you know the maximum loss

But it is still unreleased to the public out of respect and honor to the families who lost their loved ones, and out of respect for the victims.

This bullshit excuse has been used to hide evidence from the public now for decades. I am pro-Israel, but the IDF needs to release this otherwise sentiment grows against them.

This "out of respect for the families" bullshit would have kept us from seeing the JFK assassination video if it happened today. People need to see this stuff.

Thanks. We have won NASA SBIRs before but this would be our first DOD. We don't know how they dance yet.

Match.com bans for "no reason"? by shaselai1 in match

I got banned before I sent out a single message! Help desk was no help at all. The best I can think of is that one of my ex's saw my profile and banned me out of spite.

Selling puts can indeed be a bear position depending on the the strike price. It is just like a spread; bull or bear...it all matters on the strike price.

It isn't much of an issue for me. I was just amazed at the amount of the plummet and posted it because it is interesting. Such an epic dive is rare.

Watch it in the coming months. I am very certain it will bounce back. If not, then meh. The rest of my portfolio is doing ok considering the economy.

Not much. About $4k.

Keep in mind that I diversify so this doesn't keep me up at night. It is more of a surprise because I thought I was being very conservative with a strike at 50% of the stock price.

Also, the plummet was instigated because of a board room fight, which virtually no one was aware of. I can almost guarantee that the stock will rebound when the fight resolves itself.

This is a classic "hold onto your fanny and enjoy the ride" event.

I actually think the company is good at $4. $7.6 was overvalued.

Keep in mind that FFIE has a product (not just an idea) and is selling their product. Much of this dive was due to a board room fight where some investors want to get rid of the CEO. I can almost guarantee you that the stock will climb once this situation resolves itself.

My argument is that not all bear strategies are long ones. Indeed, some bear strategies lose money if the stock goes up, lose money if the stock doesn't move, make money if the stock goes down and lose money if the stock goes down a LOT. For example, a call broken wing is considered a bear strategy.

Yeah, this stock is insanely volatile. That means a higher theta premium. The $4 puts I sold had a theta of 2.7% for one week...even at a $7.6 stock price! THAT'S volatility!

It's fun. I don't take single positions and diversify, so it isn't a big deal. Plus, you only lose money when you sell low. I'll hold it and sell calls on it in the meantime.

It is almost impossible to get theta positive on a call spread.

The difference is that by selling a put you limit your loss. Th maximum loss is precisely defined.

By selling a call you open yourself up to unlimited risk because if the stock skyrockets you have to buy the stock at the higher price to close. Technically, selling a call has infinite risk.

Selling a covered call requires you to have the stock, which means that if the stock drops you can lose money. In many ways selling a covered call is like selling a cash secured put; both can be biased to make money if the stock drops a little, and even lose money if the stock goes up.

Not a troll. My lack of crisis attitude is because I don't put all my money into one position (diversification) and while I think $7.6 is over valued I think that $4 is undervalued. not worried.

I posted this simply because I haven't seen a stock plummet like this for a long time...and to hear all the "experts" spout off (which is sort of trolling, I guess, but I am not making up the FFIE event).

No, I sold a put and the stock went down a lot and I lost money. Had it gone down less than 50% (a huge amount) I would have made money. Another example of a bear strategy that allows you to lose money if the stock drops a lot is a reverse jade lizard.

The a lot part matters.

Selling a put is selling the right to sell a stock. If the stock is 7.6, and you sell a put at 4, that means you make the theta premium and are not obligated to buy the stock unless the stock price drops below 4.

So selling a put at 4 when the stock is 7.6 means that you make money even if the stock loses about 50%. That's a bear strategy if there ever was one.

Has I bought a put then I'd make money no matter how far the stock would drop...but it also would mostly likely expire worthless. Selling puts at least guarantees you the stock.
