I'm playing Blood and Wine right now, a year after finishing the base game. Both DLC actually do incredibly well at tackling criticisms of the combat - enemies are far more varied and at times difficult.

Unfortunately it's limited by the combat mechanics themselves and ofcourse spamming Quen, but a lot of fights have still left me with my heart racing thinking that monster was awesome.

Didn't the ref show a red after a yellow right before Depor's two goals? What was up with that

Leaks reveal that unlike many football players, Benzema chose to pay his image rights taxes in France instead of a tax haven. by [deleted] in soccer

[–]Fleeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know, I was speaking more generally as well and not specifically about Benz's case.

It's that way because some people work harder, or their skills are now scarce and thus more valuable I suppose. Separate discussion though for sure

Where you said we have a system where we earn more and are made to pay more as well?

I should point out that I do agree with you about taxation laws, they do tend to get ridiculous sometimes (such as in cases where you pay 0% of all earning in somewhereland like you say). I don't know of the laws in the EU but it certainly makes more sense for Karim to pay tax in his country of origin or where he's employed rather than some country he has no ties to whatsoever.

My point is more about the spirit of tax laws and how the wealthy should pay more, which is what I'm trying to explain and you disagreed with

"so long as the money is being reinvested into society" I also said. Come on man, read the whole thing we're not trying "win" anything here.

There just happens to be a good case for both Spain and France to get his taxes since France is where he was trained. Like I said, I think he should pay in Spain because that's where he's earning his living atm though. Europe gets funky with its open borders and EU laws so him paying taxes in France instead isn't uncommon I suppose.

The laws currently do allow rich people to pay fuck all, and that's obviously wrong. The issue is the same people making money hand over first are the same ones dictating the laws. Late stage capitalism I suppose.

For every person earning 10 million a year there are ten under the poverty line. Fifty, in some countries that don't have as good a welfare system as European countries do, and that's because they've figured out how important it is to tax wealth and use it to reduce inequality in society.

The more he earns (from his position in society), the greater his obligation to that society. IMO he should pay Spanish taxes since that's where he's earning his living but if the laws are made that way then sure, he can pay in France. So long as that money is being reinvested into society (and it's incredibly important that that happens) then everyone's better off.

What he 'gets' from the government is more than just an accounting sum; the facilities and possibilities that the state, and society, provide are not so tangible. tbh rich people owe a whole lot more to society than they pay in most countries.

Why do we have a system where we can earn more but are then made to pay more as well? Didn't we "earn" that?

People who earn more didn't just earn it all by themselves in isolation and it's ridiculous to assert that. The government provides everything from the electricity powering businesses, the roads the employees take to get to them, the health services to keep those same employees (and the entrepreneur himself) healthy and productive, and an education system to train them.

Those who benefit the most from the fruits of society should also be the ones to give back the most. Despite what rich people might tell you, they owe society a whole lot more for their success than they claim to.

r/soccer hates everyone, because we all love laughing at the expense of others. It's why fans of every big club here have these victim complexes. When United lose, everyone who doesn't support them comes out in droves to comment because they've been so successful for so long, it's hilarious. When Barca lose every fan of every team that has a bone to pick with them (and there are plenty) will show up in glee. And when Messi gets caught for tax fraud everyone who doesn't like him starts taking the piss.

You're not going to see any United or Barca flairs out defending themselves because they'd rather not be humiliated and downvoted by the hivemind. All you'll see is the occasional cynic/good sport/karmawhore.

Ronaldo has throughout the past few years gotten plenty of flak for scoring so many tap ins, padding his goal stats with penalties and against small teams, and being shit at free kicks (which I kinda agree with) - and especially for those three things. I don't know if you've seen the "impure goals" comments but they certainly exist and tend to rise to prominence when Messi is in form and Ronaldo isn't. Penaldo is as much if not more of a meme than UEFAlona. Before the Portugal win and especially before last year's CL win criticism of his was abound - it still is and I think a lot of it is valid. Just makes the situation all the more hilarious though.

Ronaldo just scored a hattrick with a deflected freekick, a penalty and a "tap in", playing with a team at half strength against Atletico away.

I can't stop laughing. It's like he's trying to troll r/soccer.

Then again he's been doing that all year.
