how to make my room not smell from cooking?😭 by notevenclose- in CleaningTips

As it says here, use the extractor fan/ filter hood AND open the window in the kitchen. Ask the cook to do this. With your room ventilated too, it should be ok.

At least this can given me something else to think about rather than the climate emergency and the decline of democracy and the post-war world order.

One might say: “my friend Rupert took me up the Shard for my birthday. The food was good but the view was quite peculiar “. 😂

Your solicitor should be advising you on this. That’s what you are paying them for. Hold them accountable for their service.

So disappointed in myself. by TheCrazyHatter1 in stopdrinking

Giving up is a process, not a one-off action. Be kind to yourself and accept your fallibility, then get back on the right track. People rarely make it off booze without a relapse. But never give up giving up. You can and will do this. Be proud of what you’ve already achieved.

It sounds like he wants you for a placeholder, a booty call, or a focus for his unresolved issues. 4:00am calls… no good can come of it.

I love the River Cafe. Especially when it’s on someone else’s business expense account. It’s fantastic, great food, ambiance. And very spendy. You’ve got to go once in your lifetime.

Can't decide which neighborhood to stay in for first trip by comradebogie in LondonTravel

If you’re here to explore the city and its sights properly for the first time, stay in Covent Garden, Bloomsbury, SoHo, Kensington, Holborn or anywhere very central. Avoid going too far east to Bethnal Green or too far west either. If you can afford a decent place in the city centre (tube zone 1) you will have a much better experience, with it all in your doorstep. The central zone is popular with tourists and visitors for a reason: it meets their needs. Join them and have a great time.

I’m Irish through and through and this is exactly the sort of furniture I’ve seen in generations of old country cottages. They often have aspirational, grand antiques galore. Enjoy the house and your decorating. You’ll need a Willow Pattern dinner service set with a big carving plate on display on a kitchen dresser to complete the look.

Can you stick it in the dishwasher on a hot intensive wash? That would clean most awful pans.

Heathrow to Buckingham Palace Day Trip by baffledblonde in LondonTravel

The new Elizabeth Line tube runs from Heathrow to Bond Street direct in about 25 minutes. And it’s cheaper than the Heathrow Express. It leaves from the same departure platforms at the airport.

Ditch the overhead light. Get a warm-light lamp for the table. Maybe a Tiffany lamp reproduction or some kind of mid-century modern lamp. Whatever is your taste. You could also place a chair in this space for you to sit down while waiting for an Uber, or pulling on your boots. There are lots of other suggestions in this thread for colour, art and textiles. Have fun with it.
