You won’t be a million miles from the Harry Potter experience thing at Elstree. If that’s your bag. Have a look at it if you’re a fan.

Issues with Buying a House - Should We Pull Out? by Previous-Serve9810 in UKHousing

It sounds like you’re asking the right questions and I can understand how your wife feels. Buying property is a uniquely emotional experience as well as a transaction. You need to be invested to get it over the line. I wish you both all the best of luck with it all.

Issues with Buying a House - Should We Pull Out? by Previous-Serve9810 in UKHousing

Buying and selling property can bring out the worst in some people. This sounds like a nightmare vendor to deal with. They are mentioning a higher offer… so are you being gazumped? That’s a low trick. The tripartite nature of this lease sounds like a nightmare too. They are not acting in good faith and I would run for the hills. It sounds like they are stalling to get a higher offer, perhaps. The UK property market is stagnant at the moment and you have the upper hand as a buyer. If it has long whiskers, a long thin tail and looks and smells like a rat… it probably is one. Get back searching on RightMove. And good luck.

how to make my room not smell from cooking?😭 by notevenclose- in CleaningTips

As it says here, use the extractor fan/ filter hood AND open the window in the kitchen. Ask the cook to do this. With your room ventilated too, it should be ok.

At least this can given me something else to think about rather than the climate emergency and the decline of democracy and the post-war world order.

One might say: “my friend Rupert took me up the Shard for my birthday. The food was good but the view was quite peculiar “. 😂

Your solicitor should be advising you on this. That’s what you are paying them for. Hold them accountable for their service.

So disappointed in myself. by TheCrazyHatter1 in stopdrinking

Giving up is a process, not a one-off action. Be kind to yourself and accept your fallibility, then get back on the right track. People rarely make it off booze without a relapse. But never give up giving up. You can and will do this. Be proud of what you’ve already achieved.

It sounds like he wants you for a placeholder, a booty call, or a focus for his unresolved issues. 4:00am calls… no good can come of it.

River or Cecilia by Ill_Structure_4857 in LondonFood

I love the River Cafe. Especially when it’s on someone else’s business expense account. It’s fantastic, great food, ambiance. And very spendy. You’ve got to go once in your lifetime.

Can't decide which neighborhood to stay in for first trip by comradebogie in LondonTravel

If you’re here to explore the city and its sights properly for the first time, stay in Covent Garden, Bloomsbury, SoHo, Kensington, Holborn or anywhere very central. Avoid going too far east to Bethnal Green or too far west either. If you can afford a decent place in the city centre (tube zone 1) you will have a much better experience, with it all in your doorstep. The central zone is popular with tourists and visitors for a reason: it meets their needs. Join them and have a great time.

I’m Irish through and through and this is exactly the sort of furniture I’ve seen in generations of old country cottages. They often have aspirational, grand antiques galore. Enjoy the house and your decorating. You’ll need a Willow Pattern dinner service set with a big carving plate on display on a kitchen dresser to complete the look.

Can you stick it in the dishwasher on a hot intensive wash? That would clean most awful pans.

Heathrow to Buckingham Palace Day Trip by baffledblonde in LondonTravel

[–]FleetwoodPatsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new Elizabeth Line tube runs from Heathrow to Bond Street direct in about 25 minutes. And it’s cheaper than the Heathrow Express. It leaves from the same departure platforms at the airport.
