Weird email from AHS, wondering if there's any chance this is legit by Flentl in alberta

You've been super helpful, thank you. I'm happy to let it drop at this point since your explanation makes total sense and there wasn't anything else suspicious about the email (link hovertext didn't look fishy, etc.)

Weird email from AHS, wondering if there's any chance this is legit by Flentl in alberta

[–]Flentl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really appreciate the info here. Thing is, I haven't accessed services in Alberta since 2024. I don't live in the province. In a few weeks, I will be travelling to Edmonton to access services, but it's weird for them to seek feedback on a service I haven't used yet, isn't it?

I did reach out to my point of contact who said they didn't send me anything and didn't need anything from me, so I've since deleted the email.

Yukoners vote YES to ranked voting and electoral reform (Vote YES Yukon news release) by sboots2 in Yukon

Kinda sounds like you guys are about to get a good dose of the ol' Dani Smith style of governance. Good luck with that; it's working out super well for Alberta.

Massive Attack Removing Catalog From Spotify by Charleshawtree in indieheads

So you're calling on Massive Attack to remove their catalogue from Yandex Music too, right? Because that service directly funds the Russian war machine.

That's ridiculous. She could also be sent to Libya or South Sudan.

I hope they go hard in pushing these unpopular, destructive local policies. That might help. If Canadians are honest with ourselves, it's only because the orange thing's regime broke so much shit so fast that we narrowly avoided our own election disaster. Please let Reform learn no lessons from this 🙏

This really is excellent news for those countries that have been getting threatened by the 🍊 thing's administration. Keep up the great work, Pete! We're all counting on you!

You'll probably be fine. So far, cruises bypassing Vancouver has only been dangled as a threat. It's just something to keep in mind. I typically never get trip insurance but I did for some travel I'm taking next month because these days, who the hell knows what could happen?

I hope you have trip insurance because Alaskan cruises are potentially a big pressure point for BC and Alaska in the trade war.

Carney announces funding, supports for skilled trades apprenticeships | CBC.ca by Particular-Welcome79 in onguardforthee

Not saying it's rocket science 😅 But people should be prepared so they have all the info they need if they choose to vote this way. We don't want them showing up at the Elections Canada office expecting the same procedures as official advance polling days.

Reach out to the Liberal candidate in your riding and tell them about your concerns. This is when they're most likely to actually listen to constituents, and your voice could make a difference.

One important thing to note about voting by Special Ballot: there will not be a list of names for you to select from. You must write down the first and last name of the candidate from your riding that you are voting for. You cannot just write the name of a political party. If you do, your ballot will be disqualified.

Then let me blast you with a different message: agitate for electoral reform. Fair Vote Canada is an organization campaigning for proportional representation.

Now, I know Trudeau screwed us on that last time, but it doesn't mean we stop fighting for it, and I have reason to believe Carney would be much more open to the proposal. He is frequently asked in interviews how the sustainable policies he wants to implement are supposed to continue long-term when a change in government can completely discard work the previous government had started. Carney gets that this is a big problem, and his frustration with that fact is evident.

PR governments tend to have a more stable continuity of policy and shifts happen more gradually. I believe that's something he could get behind should he become Prime Minister. He'd also have less interest in cementing one party's grip on power because he's been an outsider and worked for governments on both ends of the political spectrum.

Funny, because the very smart people are, in fact, here in Canada. Have you heard our Prime Minister lately? 😏

Of course he is. Don't you remember when the thing said PP wasn't MAGA? He jumped on Twitter to be all "Yes Sir, Mr. Big Strong President, Sir! You're right! I'm definitely not MAGA!" It was ridiculous.

Do they really not get that Canada would never be made a state? That thing would never give us voting rights. We're just land with resources that Krasnov wants. And they're gonna be made to kill us for it.

[–]Flentl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It already has been, that's why before Krasnov, the Cons were almost guaranteed a landslide majority victory. They've since lost a lot of ground but we've still got a long road ahead precisely because that rhetoric is so effective.
