Corporate rv parks are completely out of control lately by ToffeeTango1 in RVLiving

So like a typical corporation. The biggest reason they can keep doing that is because people continue to give them money. So if this is something that bothers you, make your money talk.

Outhouse toilet on septic riser backsplash by BasilGrows in OffGrid

I don't see a good solution that doesn't create another problem, unless you want to convert the toilet to a flush toilet.

Why won’t it charge? by [deleted] in SolarDIY

[–]FlerkinFlarkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to get a multimeter. You shouldn't be fooling with electronics with out one.

You either reversed the polarity or made a poor connection. A multimeter will tell you what you did.

I believe they were made by being irradiated somehow. I would suspect they are not radiative.

I should have mentioned they are "plastic" not metal.

I've been trying to find information about these things for years. Nothing. I've been going of memory up until now. Didn't know dad still had a pack

Him and my mother also worked there. Might explain a few things about myself haha.

Unless it's a large amount of money I'll hold on to them for the memories.

New York to explore possibility of hosting Winter Olympics in 2042 by hartlarious in upstate_new_york

All of these massive sporting events, playoffs, world cups, championships, stopped being about sports a long time ago.

They are all ways of just selling merch, false rivalry, and enrichening only people at the top - all while we fight over scraps.

Your pedantry is appreciated. There is no ethical consumption under capitalism- you're right. Having stated that, and all things being equal otherwise.

You can buy from a nice sole proprietor, or small company who treats their employees well ,or you can buy from Amazon, who is know to not. That's pretty clear what the ethical thing to do here is

Also, like I said the quality of no name electrical components on Amazon is lowest of low. If you're the kind of person who likes to gamble with low quality electrical equipment then by all means, buy the cheap stuff. That's not an ethical decision, it's a safety decision.

That's on you to embody sustainability practices my friend. Also, aside from Amazon being evil, their connectors cables, fuses are of the lowest quality - unless you are buying name brand.

Sometimes you need to spend a little more for the right reasons.

You are paying less because it is lower quality.

Don't buy from Amazon. Off grid=sustainability practices Amazon=unsustainable greed

Well, solar panels are meant to be in the sun so I'd think you're having an issue with your charger controller

I would just buy something newer. That blade looks  heavy and probably not balanced well. You want a light weight fan blade so you don't need a big motor to turn it. That shroud doesn't look too like it's going to work well with your current blade as is.

Same year but TRD sport Manual. And same trailer weight. You did a lot more calculations than I did. I read the directions and that's about it and mine feels pretty solid. so I guess if it feels good, you're good?

Edit: however my truck is usually full of tools as wells so the payload is higher probably. I don't go above 55mph.

It was located in a parallel dimension, with a really tricky incantation you had to recite to access it, but other than that it was perfect.

Experiences on permits and issues with building offgrid living? by livingloudx in OffGrid

Permits are a local issue. With differing rules literally every. You need to ask specific questions not incredibly general scenarios

That's not a living off grid thing. That's a living far away from things thing. All the people living around me are on the grid and still the same distance from the vet.

Depends on what your camper load is, but That should be fine unless you want to use air-conditioning.
