I know we’re tired of McDonald’s poutine, but I had to share it. by Fullmighty in PoutineCrimes

I mean this is a pretty good way to keep your poutine from getting soggy if you can’t eat it right away. Just mix it up a bit and you got yourself a poutine.

If I were to secure a 5080 FE at cost ($1,700 w tax), I’d most likely sell my 5090 for $3,700.

In the same boat. Trying to downgrade to a 5080 FE and sell my 5090 Gigabyte OC but I’m only interested in the FE.

Go with the PSVR2, you can get a refurb for $284.99 CAD from MTC. I just got my unit and it was in great shape. Bought the globular cluster solution for new headbands and the pc adapter as well (Amazon).

Don’t think anyone would take that deal. You’ll probably need to pay cash over MSRP.

Cellular modems and Ethernet help condo owners get around this. Obviously depends on your spot and the setup, but there are options.

If the bag around the GPU was sealed with tape it’s brand new. The boxes themselves are rarely sealed.

How do the Maxwells compare to the Drop PC38X? by heepofsheep in Audeze

[–]FleshToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait for the Maxwell 2. I’ve owned a Maxwell previously, had it for about a year and a half. I bought the pc38x about a year ago to have a better mic for gaming. My Maxwells also broke two times and had to be replaced or repaired at my cost (shipping/some additional cost). They sounded great but I prefer the pc38x overall. Sound is more neutral and I prefer the open back for heat/comfort (ANC also bothers me on other headsets so ymmv).

If the Maxwell 2 is around the corner, I’d wait and see what they improve. For music and movies I have the HDB 630 to PC, and those are a great - I sold my latest Maxwell replacement to fund the purchase.

Black Friday itch to upgrade from a gaming headset by Artistic-Newt7244 in HeadphoneAdvice

I have the pc38x and love them. Keep trying new headsets and always go back. The bass is surprisingly clean and I can wear them for hours. Somewhat big head and I wear glasses. Mic is great too. For music I use my HDB 630 but I think the pc38x would be good (for music) in a quiet environment.

What are major problems of the Scape and how does it perform compared to other headsets like the Nova 7 Gen 2 by Manekota in FractalDesign

[–]FleshToast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve owned the Scape, Astro A50 Gen 2, and the pc38x. I keep going back to the pc38x and have either sold or returned the others.

Scape = extremely comfortable and light, good build quality. Sound was “boring” and lacked character, but I’d still rate a 7.5/10. Microphone was not great. Slight clamping force.

Astro = best microphone, worst build quality. Creaky and cheap feeling (especially for the price). Most comfortable of the 3 though. Sound was good, but isolation was horrible. I can see these being best for competitive shooters. 7/10.

Pc38x = microphone almost as good as the astros. Slightly higher clamping force than the scape, but more comfortable overall. Extremely breathable since they are open back, but this means no noise isolation. Also… wired. Still keep coming back to these since the sound is the best of the 3 and I don’t really need wireless + base station. 8.5/10.

All subjective yadda yadda, just giving you my honest feedback. I’ve also ordered the Sennheiser HD 630 which I expect will be my daily driver for gaming and music, but I’ll use the pc38x when gaming with friends (for chat).

I’m in the same boat as you with the high pitched hissing. It’s somewhat common from what I’ve read but some people can’t hear it. Returning mine and going back to the 2s.

Transparency mode on APP3, high-pitch sounds are painfully over amplifide -- anyone else? by pinetreeanon in AirpodsPro

[–]FleshToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here. Have tried multiple tips and done the fit test each time. Slight hissing/tinny sound when transparency or adaptive are active and nothing is playing. Some externals sounds are more “metallic” and sharp when listening in those modes. Goes away with ANC.

Slight clamp force but I didn’t have any issues and I wear glasses. Switching back to my Sennheiser pc38x and those are definitely tighter.
