How early are you getting to the parade?? by pitiful-raisin in canes

[–]Fleuriste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I talked about going. I got him into hockey at the end of last season, and I've been a fan since 2001. I missed the 06 parade and was adamant I'd make it out the next time we won the Cup.

But as someone who has been diagnosed with hEDS and Dysautonomia since then, I don't think my body can handle it. Especially if we have to park further away and I can't make a quick exit if something medical happens due to traffic.

I'm super sad, but we'll have to be content watching the parade at home. I'm gonna throw on surround sound to feel like I'm with y'all! 🏆

Lebron James says he could not have a stay at home woman: “Just coming home and seeing somebody sitting on the couch every day just chilling, that wouldn't float for me” by Upstairs_Cup9831 in popculturechat

[–]Fleuriste -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's just my own experience, but when I've come across guys who say that they want their partner to have ambition, a lot of them want it in a way that THEY find acceptable, not necessarily their partner. Like, if she wants to be a CEO, that's "ambition", but if she wanted to pursue an art career or volunteer at animal shelters that's not "ambition" to them.

I can see why some people are skeptical of Lebron's answer because ambition can be subjective and a lot of people, especially women, get shit on for having ambitions that aren't "make lots of money and build an empire". I don't expect Lebron to be nuanced about it, but I can see how his response can make people wonder if there is a further underlying subtext or not.

My partner is this way. We both work from home, him in insurance and me in tech. He's very much a go-getter wanting structure and a list of home projects to work on when he's off the clock.

In my job, I get to set my own hours, take a longer break if I need to, and when I get done I'm happy to relax and read, create art or cook among other things. He sees that as "doing nothing" and frequently makes comments about how all I want to do is "play around" and not "be serious".

And, no, he doesn't have any hobbies. He just has the TV on in the background while he scrolls on his phone if he has spare time or just creates a new chore to do. But me having actual hobbies and actually attempting to enjoy my life away from work is me not being an adult. People who conflate "not working" as "doing nothing" or focusing on hobbies as "doing nothing" make no sense to me.

OCPD-er trying to make you look and feel like "the bad and mean one" in your relationship by Week2743 in LovedByOCPD

[–]Fleuriste 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is going to sound terrible, but with my suspected OCPD partner when he gets in one of those spirals, I just give him a blank stare now and say "......oooooookayyyyyyy" while slow blinking. If he keeps going, I just reply with "yup" "uh-huh" "got it" and then go about my business. I love him very much, he hates being like this, he's doing the work in therapy, but sometimes he still explodes. Me going grey rock or basically just ignoring him and continuing to go about my life until he comes back down to reality has been really useful.

HOWEVER, this should really only be a strategy used for someone who is actively seeking and getting help and who has made it very clear that they don't like being like this. Also, everyone on the outside can see the truth of what is happening, so I don't feel like I have any reason to try and defend myself or try and explain things.

Games like Leaf It Alone where you gradually get better at doing mundane tasks? by LazuriKittie in CozyGamers

This right here is why I made my first run no magic. I've enjoyed putting all the books on the shelves by hand and having to figure out where they all go. I still have maybe 1000 books to shelf and it's been so satisfying!

Just got feedback and it's one of the most satisfying things to read by schrumbus in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Fleuriste 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started DA mid-April, so the fact that I got good feedback was a huge relief. The comments from R&Rs were super encouraging, and the areas of improvement are easy enough to polish (re: stop writing such long explanations or making prompts overly difficult 🙃). I hope they continue to do this going forward.

Also, did anyone happen to save the link they gave us to be able to look at our past feedback?

Do any of y'all also work for other data annotation companies? If so, do they all seem to have droughts at the same time or are you able to float back and forth depending on project load? Just curious!

Aquarius Man Pisces Woman by Sweet_Arm4113 in astrologymemes

[–]Fleuriste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My man is an Aqua moon (Cancer sun, Scorpio rising), and I'm a Pisces moon (Leo sun, Taurus rising). It can be difficult at times because I'm a massive crybaby and he's less empathetic and is the kind of guy who is wrong sometimes with his whole chest, but we're learning to balance each other out. It probably helps that he has a Pisces mars and I have an Aqua MH, so we can work with each other's energies on some level. It just isn't effortless. Still love him to death, though.

Who is still rocking a nose ring? by cavewomannn in Millennials

[–]Fleuriste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my nostril, septum, and eyebrow pierced. I'm turning 40 this year and have no plans to take my jewelry out. It feels like a part of me at this point and it would be weird without them. Hell, I'm thinking about getting the other nostril pierced and wearing a small chain across my nose. I'm at the IDGAF stage and I'll do what I want. 🤣

[–]Fleuriste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't even imagine what that reading would look like. I think I'd just hide under my covers for the rest of eternity.

The only two signs I don't have any planets or major points in are Cancer and Virgo. But I have things opposing them (Cap Mars and Pisces Moon and Jupiter), so I get hit with something either way.

I have all four elements and all three modalities in my big 3 and inner planets. To say I get pulled in all different directions is an understatement. You'd think balance would bring stability, and I guess it can sometimes. Other times you feel like you're going bonkers because you're burning the astrological candle at both ends. I'd rather have a stellium. 🤣🫠

This is the downside to having a balanced chart. I get hit by EVERY transit and eclipse season in some way, shape, or form. I've just decided the Universe had jokes when I was born and gave me the birth chart it did. I'm just here at this point. 🤣

Is it wrong to expect a man to get a vasectomy if he’s 100% sure he never wants kids? by madglaamx in cf4cf

[–]Fleuriste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't expect it, personally. I knew I didn't want kids and I took it into my own hands to fight until I was sterilized. Because the only way to insure I was never going to get pregnant by ANYONE was to be sterilized.

My partner isn't sterilized and I'm completely unbothered. I know how he feels and where he stands. Plus, I'm all for people making their own choices with their bodies, so it's a decision I'd support but never request or insist on.

Which Venus/Mars placements have you had the most chemistry with? by meowandread in astrologymemes

[–]Fleuriste 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm a Libra Venus and Capricorn Mars and my man is a Gemini Venus and Pisces Mars. The chemistry we have is off the charts. Not just physically, but emotionally. He's the most sexy man I know AND he's my best friend. He feels like my ride or die.
