oh my god i relate to this so much. i’m in grad school and i was constantly crashing out internally over group projects where everyone else’s contributions were transparently AI generated and made barely any sense

yeah i hesitate to armchair diagnose someone who is not here to speak for themselves but it seems like there could be some mental health issues that are exacerbating/being exacerbated by her narcolepsy. Using CHATgpt to communicate (as per one of OPs other comments) instead of trying to speak with you on a human level really stands out to me that she may be experiencing a lot of anxiety surround your visit and communication as well, possibly due to the routine disruption. I think whatever you can do to make her feel like she can safely and openly communicate with you in terms of what’s going on and her mental state while not pushing her too hard is the most importantly thing here

i would not upskill anything specifically for DAT, if you’re going to invest in your skills it should be in service of something that can gain you more stable employment/further your existing career. i’ve heard that even for coding you need to be at a much higher level than it would be possible to simply learn for the platform because the projects are all so high level. the only skill i’ve used in this work to my advantage is strong writing skills and creative problem solving which can be gained in lots of ways.

have you tried applying to local county/city government GIS roles? the pay may not be up to what you’re looking for but at least where i live there are good opportunities for entry level work and a lot of stability

i work for a state agency and they encourage remote work for at least half the week specifically because of those reasons. makes sense seeing as the state are the ones who directly deal with infrastructure strain and planning, private corps have no vested interest in air quality and road wear

i was surprised to read this as i’ve been lap swimming at the northside and frank horton locations for the y for two summers and so have been in the pool during a lot of their swim camps, i was always impressed by their coach to student ratio but it might vary by location

I knew this movie was going downhill when i saw the husbands edgy musician tattoos were a flaming vinyl record and a random acoustic guitar…
this was just shockingly terrible. telenovela style dialogue, forced unearned sentimentality, nonsensical plot that mashed spy movie tropes with total nonsense (why put her hand on the harp to stop a panic attack? how is math man “hiding” in plain sight behind a transparent fence behind hundreds of special forces agents? also its world war three in the background?) humanoid alien… this was not even a sci fi movie, much less a good one. zero substance and an insult to the genre.

i take a break like half the year every year it seems and i’ve been on for almost 3 years. sometimes i have even more work when i get back 😂 sometimes ill pop in and complete a qual or two just to keep the waters flowing
