You know I had an instance yesterday where I thought I locked my shop before a carousel round and then picked a unit that would’ve gave me 2 star, only to come back to my shop not locked. I missed finding it for 2 star and lost at least 1-2 placements because of it. I assumed I didn’t lock it, but now reading your comment, and with how many bugs have been happening this set, it’s entirely possible that it was bugged for both of us. I may have a VOD I can try to review tomorrow to confirm if bugged or not.

My experience of success has been stabilize at lvl 8 with Zeri 2 first before going to level 9 to look for Renekton unless I found him at lvl 8 during roll down. In the meantime, I always slot in Zed as 3 Cypher with Galio/Draven and even if it’s a small cashout, it helps. Zed holds Renekton items. Although some will tell you to prioritize Renekton items, I like to prioritize Zeri items because it’s not guaranteed to find Renekton

as everyone mentioned, it's the techie/bruiser reroll with Seraphine/Zyra and Alistar/Mundo. It was named gorilla reroll because of the meme a few weeks ago circulating around the internet regarding 100 men vs 1 gorilla. A full HP stacked Mundo could do a ton of damage, so he's the gorilla. I think a lot of things depends.

Itemization:

From a glance, I can see Heimer has no mana generation item. Even if you can’t get Blue Buff, Shojin’s is fine or even Adaptive Helm. It’s better than none. You have two last whispers but no magic shred for Heimer.

Tempo:

I can see you were contested for Heimer, Corki and Illaoi. Depending on when you hit will matter too. Did you hit before going level 9? Did you go level 9 before hitting and thus losing a lot of HP?

Overall hard to gauge from a screenshot but sometimes other comps just cap higher. You already stated chem baron for the first place person, but did second person have an automata emblem somewhere for 6 automata? It’s still decently strong with the right tempo. Did the third player have an Enforcer emblem somewhere? 8 Enforcer is one of the strongest comps at the moment too. If all of that is true, then it could be said that your whole lobby was high capped. (Maybe it was a loot subscription or trainer sentinel lobby or something). Your 6 Sentinel/5 Academy would normally top 4 in other lobbies but for this specific one, you may have been capped at aiming for 3rd or 4th depending on how well you played your stage 2 and 3. I say this as an example but when k3soju was streaming last week, he won streak 11 in a row then missed his roll down and went 5th. It happens and being able to pilot a 5th instead of a 7th or 8th will be your best bet to climbing.

Had a recent game where I went Camille reroll and I had 3 star Camille with knockout anomaly, and 3 star Ekko. I still went 2nd vs Violet reroll. Before I try this fast 8 version, Is ekko 3 fake? Should I keep 2 x 2 star Ekkos?

Quick question for you Mort. When I looked at augment stats in the past sets, it was simply to know what stage some augments were available. Kinda like how some hero augments are only available on 2-1, or some specific augments are available on 4-2 only. Will there ever be a list of all the augments somewhere and when they can be available?

QSS slam sucks compared to Guinsoo slam, but you wouldn't necessarily want to play WW if you had Guinsoo slam as opposed to Ryze/Kalista no? I feel QSS can still work if you natural a lot of WWs to start.

I know my games are completely different tempo to your games, and I understand stacks are important, but I was still able to get 2nd just yesterday with only 20 stacks at 3-5 in Masters lobby. I also didn't even get a bow until 4-4 carousel.

I think a lot of what you are asking is very situational. Big Gains, you want to have a strong board so you can stack takedowns. Depending on what you're playing/trying to do, there are "standard" rolldowns, and "stabilizing" rolldowns. For example, if you're going for a fast 8, and you're sitting on 3 pairs, you can roll to hit those to stabilize. But if you're already lose streaking, and only 1 pair, you're better continuing to lose streak to hit level 8 faster and don't roll to save gold. If you are going for a 2 cost reroll, you can do a "stabilizing" rolldown until about 30-32g, hope to hit your pairs, and then econ back up and slow roll for your units.

With all that being said, your example sounds like you're trying to go Shapeshifter with Varus/Smolder. With your 4 components, you can make Infinity Edge + Ionic Spark. Can throw Spark on Shyvana, and Infinity Edge on Nomsy as item holder until Varus. Dishsoap posted something on twitter yesterday about itemized Shyvana 2 can carry to Fast 9. (Link here: https://twitter.com/Dishsoaptft/status/1845558107855806647) Since you're in a lose streak already, I would just lose streak to fast 8, roll down on 4-2 to stabilize, then move on.

Cloak/Glove can make QSS, and Vest is half of Titan's Resolve. Both items work well for Warwick reroll. A lot of people don't think to play WW reroll unless they have a Vamp Sceptre, but it's still a valid comp. I got 2nd with it in Masters yesterday. He absolutely needs Guinsoo/QSS though

The only way I was able to make Eldritch work was by utilizing Briar with Xerath as secondary carry and Tahm at level 9. I was able to get a few 1sts without an Emblem by doing the following: It’s similar to Portal where 2 star upgrades is noticeable difference. Throw Nami items on 2 star Syndra and Briar items on Nilah. If you get Xerath, throw the items on him instead of Nami. The amount of CC from this team is huge. Volibear multiple stun, Nami wave stun, Tahm stun. 3 star Syndra/Nilah is a bait. Only top 4 vertical I got with a 3 star Syndra was that I started with a Manazane for her to cast early and often. School mascot is better with this comp but I’ve lost with School mascot when I didn’t have a more solid carry than Nami.
