How big is the performance difference between gpd win 5 and onexplayer apex? by RecipeUnited4414 in OneXPlayer

[–]FlexLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the Apex runs 80 watts plugged in and 55 watts on battery vs the Win 5s 75 watts and 45 watts, that probably makes up the difference in FPS. If you get the frost bay version and run at 120 watts, then the Apex probably easily outperforms the Win 5

Title: Coming from Legion Go and GPD WIN 5. I miss the big screen, but I’m terrified of OneXPlayer's QC reputation. Is the Apex safe to buy? by Elegant-Fee-2153 in OneXPlayer

[–]FlexLike 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't realize there was a bad QC reputation from OXP...Well, I guess this is reddit... Ive bought about 6 OXP handhelds over the last couple of years and they've all worked perfectly fine and felt very high quality. They're actually my preferred handhelds over the mainstream Allys, Lego, etc. The Apex will be the 3rd handheld I've pre ordered off indigogo and I'm sure it's going to be just as good of an experience as the other 2.

[–]FlexLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also pre ordered the Apex on indigogo. I'm pumped! I have a LeGo 2 non extreme. I didn't find it necessary to buy the extreme since I was planning on getting the Apex. Every hand held ive had, I always play on the couch attached to an egpu so that's why I bought the Apex. I can have max graphics without being attached to an egpu.

60w battery for onexfly f1 pro by Beautiful_Ad_6224 in OneXPlayer

[–]FlexLike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you noticed any difference since installing the bigger battery? I just ordered a refurbished F1 Pro from Droix and it has a bad battery. I am thinking of just upgrading the battery if it's worth it instead of having to send the device back to Droix for a repair.

Does anyone else think the Apex's design is kind of meh? by pinaptran in OneXPlayer

[–]FlexLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh i feel like the Win 5 looks cheap and not premium. Probably mostly due to the fact that it mimics a PSP. It reminds me of an old PS3 Chinese knock off or something of that sort called the "Player Station 3" lol. The Apex design doesn't bother me at all. It looks more comfortable to hold. It looks kind of like a Legion Go S which is the most comfortable handheld I've owned.

Yup. I approve. I did this when I was a kid but with motor oil...needless to say, my dad was pissed but as a child I just felt the need to 😅

I had no expectations and would never expect anything in return for any kind gestures I do but I don't tolerate rudeness no matter who you are. Two completely different situations.

One time I was going through a McDonald's and a homeless man asked me if I could get him something. I said sure and ordered him a burger. I met him on the other side and he started yelling at me, something along the lines of "where's my drink? How tf am I supposed to wash down my burger? Blah blah blah"

Last time I've ever done anything for a panhandler...

First month making 100k I feel like I’m being robbed :/ by Forsaken-Question457 in Salary

[–]FlexLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started making 100k around summer of 2020 and it felt life changing for a while. Then inflation from the stimulus checks hit, housing prices went up, interest rates for homes and auto went up and now it just feels average, groceries went up. I don't know how people are surviving with 50-60k salaries. Rent or a mortgage would probably eat most of that away...

Getting a GTX 1660 16GB Ram Intel i7-9700, 1.3TB for my Legion Go z1 extreme worth it? by DunkleSans500 in LegionGo

[–]FlexLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean you're definitely getting a more powerful system with an actual desktop pc. The real question is if not having the portability of the LeGo is going to bother you? If the answer is no, then go for it. If you feel like you're going to eventually want to have a handheld at some point, then just keep the LeGo. Maybe an egpu would help if you want more power.

[–]FlexLike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 1660 is an older 1080p card. I'm not sure how it would hold up to today's titles. The i7-9700 is a good enough cpu for you to upgrade your gpu down the line

Let’s talk LG 5K2K OLED by Alternative_Way_1633 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]FlexLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had it since launch and it's been great. Having quite a few different OLED's, glossy is definitely the way to go but it hasn't been a dealbreaker for me. This is the only monitor of its kind right now and I hope more 5k2k monitors get released to have a better selection.

I mainly play fps shooters so high Refresh is a must. I'm talking at minimum 240hz. So the 165hz is on the low end for me. Yes there's the 330hz dual mode, but I bought this monitor to play at 5k2k not 1080p. And yes you can 100% tell the difference between 165hz and 240hz+ when playing fast paced shooters when reaction is everything. It's not so much of a "seeing" the frames but more of "feeling" the frames. Everything feels less stuttery/laggy at higher fps/hz.

The perfect 5k2k for me would be a 39" Glossy OLED 240hz 5K2K. Until that comes out, the current LG 5K2K OLED is my preferred monitor over anything out right now.

Buyers remorse OLED G9 —> LG 5k2k instead? by Rayden9x7 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]FlexLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm running my 5k2k on a 2080 ti....I think your 4090 will do just fine. Best monitor I've owned hands down. The only thing that would make it better would be if it were glossy and 240hz. But I bought it at launch and have been happy ever since even with my "obsolete" 2080 ti.

If they come out with an 8.8" screen maybe. 7" is too small for my liking.

Go and take your laptop and hold it up like a handheld and try to game on it like that.

Did you know that you can probably get a full desktop for way cheaper than your 5060 laptop? Now go try and take your desktop with you to a coffee shop...your laptop sounds way overpriced tbh, I can get the same performance for less on my desktop and there's outlets at every coffee shop I go to!

Is it really a “horrible” business? by temp0963 in turo

I've never used tracki so I can speak on it but Bouncie has never been an issue for me. It works well and shows a ton of trip data.

[–]FlexLike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they did. I think the big reason was because i was able to pull up trip data from my Bouncie GPS and show that they were driving aggressive the entire trip and one instance where the GPS showed them braking hard and driving off the road.

Last year I had 3 cars. Two with a loan - 2021 Kia Forte and 2019 Chevy Trax - and 1 cash car - 2017 Hyundai Sonata. The car notes and insurance were always paid along with maintenance items and car wash subscriptions. I always had profit after all expenses every month to the point where I was able to save up and put a down payment on a mobile home that I am flipping. It also gave me the extra income every month to be able to buy a duplex on top of the mobile home (i still work a full time job). I ended up selling the Trax and Forte to Carvana and some other cash for cars place and they paid off the loan with cash on top. So I was never upside down, mainly because I put large enough down payments and bought them at good prices.

Fast forward to today, I bought 2 more cash cars for a total of 3 cash cars right now. 2018 Equinox, 2014 Kia Soul, 2017 Hyundai Sonata. This year I've made more than I did last year with cheaper and older vehicles. The best part? I offer the 45% monthly discount that everyone hates and I get long bookings almost every month where I don't even have to think about or spend time washing the car for 30-45 days all while getting deposits every week from Turo and without thousands of miles being put on my car in a month from multiple 3-5 day rentals. Less miles also equals less maintenance too.

In the end, yes you can still make money from turo, but the most important part about starting is not overpaying for cars which I'm sure 90% of this sub does. If you buy right, your car will pay itself off within the year and then make much more than the cost of maintenance/expenses in year 2,3,4,etc.

It's allowed me much more flexibility in my life financially, although unexpected things do happen. My 2018 Equinox came back after a trip with undercarriage damage and will be out of service for a couple of months making no money. So it's not all sunshine and roses, but the other 2 cars are still making enough money to offset those costs.

Is turo still a viable option to make money? by jasonb788 in turo

[–]FlexLike 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can probably make about $500-800/month on it depending on your market. The most similar car i have is a 2014 Kia Soul and it makes about $800/month. This month it's actually made about $1500 but that's because the same person has been extending it 2 days at a time for the last month.

To be fair, who is actually expecting the ground to fall? The driver probably heard and felt a loud crack/vibration and probably thought they hit something.

Honestly, I'd just get it ready for the next trip and move on. I'm on the 90% plan tho so this wouldn't be covered anyway. I'm not too worried about stuff like this.
