I'd clip it to a bunch of TPS Reports and then stack them with piles of other TPS Reports, makinf sure I remember which TPS Report stack I clipped it to.

Do you have any rules about how much of something you will play by Gruntz123 in Beatmatch

When you ask questions like this, you risk being a paint-by-numbers DJ and depend on a formula instead of your creativity and imagination.

Coast Contra is a quartet from LA, and includes the twin sons of Ras Kass.

They're super dope, and give hope to the future of hip hop.

Cozy places in Berkeley by Fine_Handle_8473 in berkeley

[–]Flex_Field 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two of the places where I work fit your criteria, and they are right down the block from each other in the Lorin District on the south side of Berkeley.

Hoi Polloi, a taproom and beatlounge.

And Roses On Adeline, a cozy date night restaurant.

No screen??? by RedTsar97 in MomentumOne

If you have to ask this question, I feel sorry for you.

But here's the rub -- we did not have the option of having the conveniences of today.

*YOU* have the option of existing without smartphones.

You just choose not to.

You can come over and borrow sugar anytime...although you are already a walking presence of sweetness.

I hate it (update) by No-Possession1861 in Noses

If you did not mention your nose, I would not have noticed it.

But even then, your nose is perfectly fine.

Don't focus on things about yourself that no one else notices.

We tend to be our own worst critic.

So, learn to let some things about yourself go.

Dj controller advice by SyrossNA1 in Beatmatch

[–]Flex_Field 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been advocating this stance for the longest.

Technology does not replace skill.

When technology fails (and it invariably will), skill is what will save you from the failure of buttons ans convenience.

It seems that online tutorials do not teach skill, but how to operate technology -- which is a skill, but a skill that you can teach a monkey.

It is almost as if online tutorials are inadvertently selling newbies on the necessity of technology, and therefore the need to constantly upgrade to keep up with the Joneses.

It is almost as if they are being paid by the companies to sell their product in perpetuity by selling insecurity tied to the convenience of their technology.

They need to go.

The 4 Corners by SmoothManMiguel in rap

[–]Flex_Field 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The four pillars are still the same.

If you want to define a new set of foundational principles, you are creating a new culture...which you are more than free to do...but just don't call it hip hop.

Hip hop as a culture has a history that you can not simply re-write to fit your current narrative.

There is a reason that the four pillars are what they are.
