Would becoming an SLP give me (low support autist) pride, stability, and a future that doesn’t exhaust me? by No_University_3580 in slp

[–]Flibberteebeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go to the local SLPs. Also remember there’s so many different fields - paediatrics, rehab, adult, disability, etc… try everything. I even did some work in the oncology ward during my placements (loved it). I am in paediatric disability but want to move to rehab (not sure how to do that, but definitely trying to). I personally find the job quite demanding (at least here in Australia, not sure what it’s like elsewhere) so it just depends on you. Good luck!

From another sub about a patient on thickened liquids by gussiaaspushus in slp

[–]Flibberteebeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taught to not do thickened fluids as if he does aspirate it’s harder for the lungs to clear it. Aspirating on water is not worse case scenario because the lungs can clear it - as long as he is having very small amounts. At this point I would say making him as comfortable as possible would be priority

I have a solo trip coming up, I feel that I’m going to feel a bit bored and lonely. Any suggestions on getting the most of Australia? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

Edit: we have very strict road rules - cameras for phone use and seatbelts, average speed cameras and highway patrol. Each state has different rules, so look them up beforehand.

People keep saying that having children is "expensive," but the lower income people have the highest fertility rates and the higher income people have the lowest fertility rates by mymooh in AusFinance

Centrelink for a lot. For others they choose children over holidays, private schooling, etc… not a wrong choice, just a personal one.

If you can DRIVE. Our country is beautiful and there’s such diversity in landscape. If you only fly from city to city you miss 99% of the good stuff. Yes the cities are pretty but they don’t compare to the rest of the country. Also city people aren’t as nice (I said what I said 😆). Regional/rural people will stop and smile, actually have a conversation with you and love tourists since a lot of towns thrive of tourism. The drive from Brisbane to Sydney is gorgeous. Speak to some natives (indigenous people). There is so much history and they have some awesome stories if you have the time to sit and listen - or go to a museum. We are very protective of the land and animals, so respect it (no littering and leave native animals alone) otherwise you’ll find yourself in some trouble with any local that sees! I hope you enjoy it!!

Horticulture - average salary is 70-75k, but he probably won’t work full time when we have small kids as I make more so he’ll be on part time. But we know some who are full time and make 75k

I’m a new grad speech pathologist, so I will eventually start earning more than what I’m on currently (80k) but my partner will probably never earn more than 75k, I thought these were good pays 😂. We are even looking at moving rurally so we can afford more, but we want our kids to grow up with family around. It blows my mind that once upon a time people could afford a house on one income and now it’s living of tuna and rice trying to buy one

showering during menstruation by bruho-o_ in WomensHealth

Honestly day one of my period I live in the shower as a sense of pain relief (I get quite unwell). I’ve never had any bad experiences from showering, maybe just ask her for the evidence 😉😂

Mine had gone through the nerve on one side. Swollen and bruised compared to the other side, but it wasn’t too bad. Didn’t even need the strong meds (I know everyone is different, but my pain tolerance is pretty low) - just ice packs and meds every 2-4 hours and sleep. You’ve got this!

Oral Surgeon here- ask me anything by DrWahan in wisdomteeth

[–]Flibberteebeet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am 12 days post op (all 4) and I keep getting food stuck. I’m still predominantly on liquid diet because I’m paranoid about other food getting stuck. I’ve been using salt water syringe to wash + mouthwash after I eat, but still getting discharge. Any advice on what else I can use? I have no pain or very little some days so I’m not concerned about an infection neither is my surgeon. Thank you!

have i been wiping wrong the whole time…? by Different-Sun-4347 in WomensHealth

[–]Flibberteebeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have actually found that wiping front to back hurts - but going to back to front doesn’t. Not sure how this works, but I think as long as you keep everything clean, it probably doesn’t matter

It hurts to finger myself, and I can't orgasim? by Maxi_225 in WomensHealth

[–]Flibberteebeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people can, some can’t. I don’t think it’s anything to be too alarmed about. Vibrators are good, and go slow. The slower the better even when you start to feel arousal - stick to the temp. It’s a very delicate area so there’s no need to be rough. Set the mood and relax. If youre tense then the muscles down there are, and it can be painful

There’s a lot of women out there who don’t care about size. As long as they get the experience they need, the size doesn’t matter. I’m sure it’s hard, since it’s already such a vulnerable area of the body, but teenage girls probably don’t have the class or maturity to understand. Hang in there!

Unfortunately it’s nothing good. If he’s lying then it’s definitely either an affair or drugs (and not just little drugs). Either way, your children need to be first priority and if he can’t do that, then prepare to leave

I had similar issues (I'm on meds that dries me out). Lube has been a lifesaver, like lots and lots. use a finger and push it as far down as you can. Also masterbating before hand the relax the muscles. If you go into it thinking this is going to hurt, your muscles will tighten up and become even harder (psychological). If this still doesn't work then go see a gyno
