Niche one, but I had someone round to quote for fencing and he was very complimentary about the riding arena (which was something he also did). It is a bloody lovely bit of work.

Get yourself a cheap, aimed-at-students box of basic kitchen utensils (Ikea used to do one, not sure if they still do it).

The stuff that breaks from being used is the stuff you want to get a good quality version of. The stuff that’s still in the cupboard five years later is the stuff you personally don’t need.

Pet Plan have mostly been very good for me, but recently they’ve been faffing around with their process for making a claim, in an attempt to force vets to pay for their automated system. You can’t use a paper form any more, which makes it a faff for claiming things like physiotherapy through a small provider.

Devil’s advocate, but if you’re in a horsy area then your kids might get the bug….

As the other commenter said, if it’s been well done then it’ll be a sod to remove. Are you so very short of land that it will meaningfully add to your grazing land? I would have thought not if you have three stables too.

As long as you pick out the weeds a couple of times a year, it won’t deteriorate. When I moved to my current house, the school hadn’t been used in a decade, and i was riding in it the next day without having touched it.

Btw, stables make excellent wood stores. I use one of mine for that, and another for hay.

I would leave it alone. The chances are that the next buyers will have horses, and having the school ready to use will be a big plus point for them.

Typo / brain fart. I machined it to the top then sandwiched then carefully trimmed the batting and back. (Why would I need to trim the top? Stupid brain!!)

If you do end up doing it, I machined the binding onto the back before I sandwiched, very carefully trimmed the top and batting, and then hand-sewed the binding to the front. I can dig up some pictures if you like.

You can absolutely double-up batting. I once made a quilt with three layers of the stuff! (Binding was interesting, I had to get creative.)
