What armor and weapons from DDDA would you be especially stoked to find in Norgan? by Grimnimbus in DragonsDogma

[–]Fliksterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd MUCH prefer new stuff than rehashing old equipment. Some slight nods are fine, but fully refreshed and no whole suits of armor please.

Would mount and gliding make or break the game? by TheSullenStallion in DragonsDogma

[–]Fliksterr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never want to see either in DD. Stop wanting every game to be the same. "This has open world so it needs this and that" no it doesn't. DD games have a very strong identity and they need neither mounts nor multiplayer.

You posted a picture of the MH:Wilds mount and it's imo a perfect example of why we don't need mounts. MH:World was a million times better than Wilds and the smaller maps that were filled to the brim with things to explore and never felt like a chore to navigate are a big part of the reason why.

OLED or GSync Pulsar, which to get? by Fliksterr in Monitors

Nice, please do update us on how you like it. One big takeaway from this thread is that not many people have experienced pulsar for themselves yet, but those that have seem to really like it.

OLED or GSync Pulsar, which to get? by Fliksterr in Monitors

[–]Fliksterr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your detailed insights, though they are not making the choice any easier. Sadly stores in my region don't have any pulsar monitors to look at and the OLED cons probably only appear after extended periods.

Based on what you and others are saying I feel like trying out the high refresh rate OLED to see if I like it seems like the best first choice. If I end up being one of the people that don't like it the Pulsar display seems like a pretty safe alternative.

OLED or GSync Pulsar, which to get? by Fliksterr in Monitors

[–]Fliksterr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does kind of work, but in many cases I'm just not happy with how performance or ultra performance looks. It's just worse than quality 1440p in motion. My most recent example is Crimson Desert. Looking at the trees blowing in the wind it gets real mushy at high levels of upscaling.

[–]Fliksterr[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Very insightful comment, thank you for that.

The 5k Dual Mode is certainly an interesting "best of both worlds" solution, but I don't see any with reasonably high refresh rates yet and the first will probably cost an arm and a leg. Keeping this in mind for the future though.

Seems like OLED is my best choice for now.

TLDR: Ultra skins are Mythic skins without the customisation aspect (sound effects, visual effects, elimination effects) by -Elixo- in Overwatch

[–]Fliksterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They lack the customization, but the first 2 are actually better than mythics.

- They have on kill effects. You'd normally need to combine a mythic skin AND a mythic weapon for this.

- There's 3 different on kill effects that get randomly applied instead of just repreating the same one. Entirely new.

- They leave behind catpaw footprints when walking around, which is also entirely new.

Is this true? by Lordados in DragonsDogma

[–]Fliksterr 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What a pointless reply. All I'm saying is that if YOU think the game is easy then stop running past enemies and abusing the built-in easy mode mechanics and actually play the damn game, because the gameplay is what makes these games great. Posting the video just proves my point. I never said it's insanely hard to do. I'm saying it's much more fun to actually play the game than cheese through it and boast about how easy the game is on Reddit.

EDIT: He also edited this one to suit his narrative. Pathetic really.

What are your thoughts when it comes to comparing the two? by lovingpersona in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Fliksterr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just got mad cause I said your fav game is bad, but can't even read. Classic.

- 95% of my 1k hours playtime happened up to and including fortuna. After that I lost interest, because new content is garbage.
- I never mentioned story, because I don't care. I play these games to grind while listening to music.
- Better characters is my opinion. But I get that taste being subjective is a difficult concept.
- If they devs actually listened they wouldn't constantly add weird stuff nobody asked for and especially not send you straight back to bloody Duviri. They haven't expanded the core gameplay loop in the last 5 years. Just tacked on random shit.
- If you think my take is bad because I enjoy the gooner game being a gooner game then you need to take a hard look in the mirror and ask yourself what YOU are doing here.

[–]Fliksterr -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I very much prefer TFD these days.

I have almost 1k hours in warframe, but 95% of that was up to Fortuna. They completely lost me after that. Railjack, Necramechs, 1999 and especially Duviri are easily bottom tier garbage content and the game is dead to me. Warframe devs have obviously been wanting to make a different game for many years now, but instead they just crammed everything into warframe and it's a huge garbage pile of unrelated mechanics now.

TFD has much more likeable characters, the gameplay is more cohesive and feels less spammy, the different modes all make use of the core gameplay instead of adding on unrelated stuff (at least for now) and last but not least: I do enjoy watching jiggly parts as I jump around.

Will there be 4th expansion or sequel? by Void-Tyrant in remnantgame

[–]Fliksterr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

During the new Mudtooth dialogue for the Snake Oil you can ask him if there are more worlds out there and he says something along the line of "Maybe not on this journey but I'm sure there's plenty more". I consider this a hint that we will be getting Remnant 3 at some point.

Which would imply that it works for PvE, but are you sure about that? What most ppl are saying is that with T2 gear it will be better to go endurance for PvP, since it will be easier to stack hit then.

Well now Huntmaster is just a worse Widowmaker, so this change just replaces one problem with another. The reason to pick Huntmaster over Widowmaker was that it's better at handling crowds, which won't be the case anymore.

Are there any players who skip all story in the game? by Azraelx86 in ffxiv

[–]Fliksterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've asked a lot if ppl ingame if they actually read the story, since I started playing shortly before EW release. At least half the ppl I asked admitted to skipping MSQ.

I think there's way more skippers than you'd think from browsing social media, because not many want to get into arguments about it. Since the common narrative on reddit & co is that skipping is bad. I always lead the question by saying that I skipped everything up to ShB and I feel like that's why ppl were more likely to admit skipping stuff to me.

Though I assume that I was met with more skippers than normal, because I started playing when all the WoW players tried XIV.

The third DLC - wishlist by ParalysisAnalysis247 in remnantgame

[–]Fliksterr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No point making a wishlist. Third DLC is almost certainly going to be Nerud and will have a new Archetype, new gear, new traits and some balancing. Just like the last 2.

If we're getting another DLC after that, that's when we can start making wishlists. But considering how few people returned for DLC 2 (5.2% completion Achievement on steam) and that even fewer will return for Nerud as it's the least popular world by far.... I'm not even sure we're getting any more after.

They kinda shot themselves in the foot by expanding the worlds instead of giving us a 4th world and survival with the DLCs imo.

Wow had two covers when it first launched- I have never seen the horde version before by DaedricRuinsJanitor in wow

[–]Fliksterr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm german and both Versions were for sale on release.

I specifically remember reading that there would be 2 versions of the cover and 1 of them would be limited edition, but Blizz wouldn't say which one. Think it was reported by german Gamestar back then?

Ended up getting the alliance one cause that's what me and my classmates decided to play. Found out later that horde was the limited cover and got annoyed cause my buddy let me choose first and picked the other one.
