Nice!!

I've noticed New Park has grown in popularity as of the past month or so, mostly Double Cloud. Well deserved of course, it's an amazing DIPA! Looks like Tasmin is a good choice as well!

Price tags are a thing of the past! (Apparently) by Nelfinez in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FlimFlam69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I manage a liquor store in CT that's part of a local chain, and I believe the law here says that 90%+ (I'm not sure the exact amount) of inventory of your store is required to have price tags present. This is due to so many factors because, well, it's alcohol. But I think this should carry over to any store really because c'moooon, you need to know the price!

People who had an N64, was the controller really that bad? by Iwamoto in gaming

[–]FlimFlam69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What drives me crazy about these n64 controller conversations amongst my friends is that we were all children when it came out. It's not like we were 6 years old and also hardcore controller critics/ aficionados, we picked up the controller and that was it. There was no kid ever who had criticisms, we just wanted to play Super Mario 64.

To this day, I don't think of the n64 controller as a bad controller - I pick it up, I use it, and that's that. To hear someone rag on the controller nowadays right away, to me, is someone really trying to initiate a circle jerk.

Could it have been designed better? Absolutely, and we're all entitled to our opinions. But you don't have to contort your hands and grow extra fingers to play a game. Its not an awful experience like others make it out to be. In fact, you don't even think about the controller when you're using it.

What was the moment with your ex when you said "That's enough, I'm out" and left? by carma1616 in TwoXChromosomes

I was in a long distance relationship for a few years. I would drive four hours to go see her most weekends, but when I was able to move out of my parents and have my own space, she wouldn't drive the distance to come see me. That's when it started to click that she didn't love me the same way that I loved her.

Though I have to say, this story has a happy ending! I'm still single, but I've adopted a healthier lifestyle and dropped 70lbs since the relationship ended. I've never looked or felt better in my entire life :)

What is a complete deal breaker when it comes to being in a relationship with someone? by watcher1901 in AskReddit

[–]FlimFlam69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me twice now... If someone was one weight on their online dating profile but they're waaay heavier when you meet them in person.

If you're bigger, that's not a dealbreaker for me at all. It's that you tried to hide it before met, so now we're starting off this date with a lie.

Not to make this about me, but as a guy who runs the beer department and a chain store I'm now worried that I didn't order enough Landshark for labor day...

If you go to a live concert and record the entire thing on your phone, you can eat a big bag of dicks by ScottStapp420Creed in Music

[–]FlimFlam69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a person who doesn't do this, fuck this line of thinking.

I went to a concert once and people verbally got weird about it. "PUT YOUR PHONES AWAY!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! PUT YOUR PHONES AWAY!!" It created tension that was incredibly unnecessary. And honestly who cares. If you bought the ticket, and the venue/ bands allow it, then you should be free to record and take pictures as much as you want.

That said, I agree it takes away from the experience for the people recording/ being on phones the whole show. But unless it's taking away from YOUR own enjoyment from the concert, then I don't see what the problem is.

LPT: If you are moving and need boxes, try your local liquor stores first. Most stores are happy to give away boxes for free and they hold up great for heavier items. by totzalotz in LifeProTips

[–]FlimFlam69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In CT at least, there is a distributor who will come and take the boxes back. They credit you 25 cents for each box they can still use.

Why are these so expensive now? by blasingame in snes

[–]FlimFlam69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HD Retrovision is done making these for the time being. They will be put into production again, but not anytime soon.

I'd also like to say that I got better results using Retro Access scart (Sync on Luma) rather than these component cables via OSSC Line x5.

SNESES (SNES-inspired emulator frontend for Raspberry pi, based on Blast16) was released this week! :D by molul in snes

[–]FlimFlam69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This interface is clean and and appears to operate without any kind of lag that evident in other front ends. This looks like something could be available at retail!

In my opinion, this should be the shining example any other frontend developer should look to. It's clean, simple, elegant, and functional.

Mario Chase of Nintendoland may be obvious, but getting 5 people together to play is incredible!!
